User:Mr. Stradivarius/List of language teaching methods
There have been many language teaching methods outlined over the years, with a variety of scopes. They have ranged from overarching views of what language is and what the nature of learning should be, to practical suggestions to implement inside the classroom. There has also been a discrepancy in the literature about the nature of method, and a number of different schemes have been proposed. Furthermore, it has been proposed that there is no such thing as one best method, and that we are now in a state of post-method, where teachers should pick and choose from different methods according to what seems plausible to them in their particular classroom situation. Due to the ambiguity surrounding the term method, it is not easy to classify all the different language teaching method proposals that have been made. This list includes all language teaching practices that have been described as a "method".
