Arnold was born on August 9, 1951 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He graduated from St. Mary’s Law School in San Antonio then moved to Amarillo in 1981 to begin practicing law. After serving as Chief Felony Prosecutor in the Potter County District Attorney’s Office, he went into private practice and became a well respected criminal defense attorney. Arnold was also an avid golfer. He was a devoted father, husband and attorney. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Miller.
