Well, I'm ParelDraakje (translated: PearlDragon) and I'm 132 long years young. I'm deaf and I'm a real belg.
I'm still going to school, and I'm doing science-mathematics, and I like it. I'm very interested in science, and I would like to study genetics later.
I won't put a copy of my identity card online, so don't ask. Same case with my address and phone number.
I'm deaf.
You're deaf when you have at least 90 dB loss. I have 110 dB loss, so I'm officially "deaf".
Deafness can be partially fixed with an hearing aid or an Cochlear implant, but even with these aids deaf people will never hear as good as a normal hearing person. My deafness is prenatal, this means I'm born with it. The causes are unknown, probably a Genetic disorder.
I don't know anything about sign language, but I would love learning it.
I'm wearing hearing aids, from GN Resound. They are called the "CANTA" hearing aids.
The newest rage are the METRIX hearing aids, and I have already tested them.
However, I didn't like them, so I keep on using my CANTA models.
