User:Redtree21/Acknowledgement of Country/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a userbox to be used on user pages. It is an Acknowledgement of Country, which is a recognition of the Indigenous Australian lands an individual is situated on, often given by people in Australia as a sign of respect.

This userbox requires one parameter - the name of the Custodians of the land on which the user contributes from. This can be done by adding a vertical bar | directly after the template name, and then typing the name of the people, preferably with a link to the corresponding article. For example:

{{User:Redtree21/Acknowledgement of Country|[[Cadigal]]}}

produces -

This user acknowledges the Cadigal people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which they contribute, and pays their respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.
