Taylor Swift (born 1989) is an American singer-songwriter. She started as a country pop singer after signing with Big Machine Records in 2005 and debuted with her self-titled album the following year. In 2018, she signed with Republic Records; her first studio album under the label was Lover (2019). She has re-recorded four albums subtitled (Taylor's Version) due to a dispute with Big Machine. Outside of music, she directed the short films Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions (2020) and All Too Well: The Short Film (2021). Her life and career were also depicted in the autobiographical film Miss Americana (2020). Swift is one of the best-selling artists worldwide and is the most-streamed artist on Spotify, as well as the first billionaire with music as the main source of income and the highest-grossing female touring act. Avatar is a 2009 epic science fiction film co-produced and directed by James Cameron (pictured). It stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver. Set in the mid-22nd century, it depicts a local tribe of Na'vi, a humanoid species indigenous to Pandora. Development of the began in 1994, with filming scheduled to to take place after the completion of Cameron's 1997 film Titanic. The film was critically and commercially successful and is the highest-grossing film of all time, having grossed $2.9 billion at the box office. Toy Story is a 1995 American animated film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. It is Pixar's first feature-length film and the first computer-animated feature film. Taking place in a world where toys come to life when humans are not present, the plot focuses on the relationship between an old-fashioned pullstring cowboy doll named Woody (Tom Hanks) and a modern space cadet action figure, Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) as Woody develops jealousy towards Buzz when he becomes their owner Andy's favorite toy. The film received critical acclaim, and holds a 100% approval rating on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, and has been cited as one of the greatest animated films ever made. Its success launched a multimedia franchise, spawning three sequels, beginning with Toy Story 2 (1999), a spin-off film Lightyear (2022), and numerous short films. Mrs. Doubtfire is a 1993 American comedy drama film directed by Chris Columbus and written by Randi Mayem Singer and Leslie Dixon, based on the 1987 novel, Madame Doubtfire, by Anne Fine. Robin Williams, who also served as a producer, stars with Sally Field, Pierce Brosnan, Harvey Fierstein, and Robert Prosky. It follows a recently divorced actor who disguises himself as an elderly female housekeeper to be able to interact with his 3 children. The film addresses themes of divorce and the effects it has on a family. The film was released in the United States by 20th Century Fox on November 24, 1993.[3] It won the Academy Award for Best Makeup,[4][5] and the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. Williams was awarded the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. The film grossed $441.3 million on a $25 million budget, making it the second-highest-grossing film of 1993. The film received mixed reviews on release, but placed 67th in the American Film Institute's "AFI's 100 Years...100 Laughs" list and 40th on Bravo's "100 Funniest Movies of All Time" list. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is a 2001 fantasy film directed by Chris Columbus, based on the 1997 novel of the same name by J. K. Rowling. The first instalment in the Harry Potter film series, it follows Harry Potter (played by Daniel Radcliffe) as he begins his formal wizarding education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and discovers that he is a famous wizard. Production took place in the United Kingdom between 2000 to early 2001, with Rowling insisting that the entire cast be British and Irish. The film became a critical and commercial success, grossing over $1 billion worldwide at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing film of 2001 and the second-highest-grossing film at the time. The film was nominated for several awards, including three nominations at the 74th Academy Awards. Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are 2022 role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for the Nintendo Switch. They are the first installments in the ninth generation of the Pokémon video game series. Unlike previous installments, Scarlet and Violet take place in the Paldea region, which is based on the Iberian Peninsula (pictured), and features an open world with three different storylines. The games also introduced 120 new Pokémon and the Terastal phenomenon, which allows a Pokémon to transform into its exclusive "Tera Type". Critics praise the games for their open world formula and story, but criticized the games' graphics.
