Sonic the Hedgehog is a film based off of the hit video game series. The movie was first mentioned back in 2006, after the release of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), but was pushed back for unknown reasons.

Plot

Dr. Eggman attacks Station Square and kidnaps the president's daughter. Dr. Eggman tells the president that his daughter will be returned if he is given the document on a secret military weapon called "Atlas". Sonic the hedgehog races to the scene to get the president's daughter back, but must do so within 24 hours or else the president will have to meet the demands of Dr. Eggman and hand over the most deadly weapon known to man.

Eventually, Dr. Eggman gains the chaos emeralds and the weapon known as Atlas, and tries to conquer the world. It is then up to Sonic and his friends to stop the Atlas weapon before it is too late. A picture appeared on the internet of a burning Sonic fighting a monsterous creature, but it is unknown if this is a modified design of his super transformation or not.

Confirmed Cast Members

Sonic the Hedgehog: The world's fastest being is the heroic blue talking hedgehog himself. Sonic lives by his own rules, but will always be there to help others in need.

Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik: Sonic's arch-nemesis. Dr. Eggman is a mad scientist who plans to rule the world, though his plans have been foiled many times by the blue hero and his friends.

President Keller: An original character for the film. His daughter has been kidnapped by Dr. Eggman and must hand over a secret weapon called Atlas if he wants her back. He sends Sonic the Hedgehog to save her.

Katlyn Keller: An original character for the film. Katlyn is the president's daughter and is kidnapped by Dr. Eggman in order for the mad scientist to get his hands on a deadly weapon called Atlas.

FBI Agent: An original character for the film. He is in command of a strike force that is trying to get the president's daughter back in the case that Sonic cant get the job done on time.

Rumored Cast Members

Miles "Tails" Prower: Sonic's best friend. He has helped Sonic defeat Dr. Eggman on serveral occations, and is a fox with two tails that enable him to fly.

Knuckles the Echidna: An allie of Sonic's. Knuckles was once tricked by Dr. Eggman into thinking Sonic was his enemy, but is now one of his closest friends.

Amy Rose: The girl who is determined to become Sonic's wife. She follows Sonic everywhere, though Sonic tends not to notice her.

Shadow the Hedgehog: The ultimate lifeform created by Dr. Eggman's grandfather, Gerold Robotnik. He was once an enemy of Sonic's, though he is now his ally. He works as an agent for a government group called G.U.N. who work for the president.

Rouge the Bat: A thief who loves jewels. She is also a G.U.N. agent and partner of Shadow the Hedgehog. She has been known to have feelings for both Shadow and Knuckles, creating a very interesting love triangle. She is known to be Shadow's closest thing to a friend.

Sequels

There are currently two sequels planned to follow the live-action movie. The first sequel with the working title Sonic Returns will have Sonic and his friends facing a "different sort of enemy". The second sequel with the working title Sonic Forever is expected to have Dr. Eggman returning as the central villain, with a possible appearance of Metal Sonic. There are also rumors that major villains such as Chaos will appear, or even villains from the comic book series such as Evil Sonic or Ixis Naugus. Plans are also being made for a prequel that will explain Sonic's first encounter with Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, and Eggman himself. The working title is Sonic Begins.
