Ellen Miller (1854-1929) co-founded, in 1896, the Deerfield Society of Blue and White Needlework with Margaret C. Whiting. She was extremely creative, which expressed itself in developing embroidery designs that she and other members of the society stitched.[1]: 27, 60  Miller was born and grew up in Hatfield, Massachusetts.[2]
