E5 and H5 Series Shinkansen

(incomplete) The E5 series (E5系) and H5 series (H5系) are Japanese Shinkansen high-speed train types jointly developed and operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and Hokkaido Railway Company.

The E5 series on the Tōhoku Shinkansen since 5 March 2011[1] and on Hokkaido Shinkansen since 26 March 2016. The H5 series has also operated on the Tōhoku Shinkansen and the Hokkaido Shinkansen. The H5 series is based on the older E5 series.
