Dongjin Shin (born in 1982), known professionally as Grafflex (stylized as GRAFFLEX), is a Korean artist who expresses his artwork with comfort and easy way in various of fields such as Graphic Arts, Painting, Space Art, and Art Toys.
He is developing his own style that is reminiscent of image from childhood when we met the mass media to modern world. Especially, he created the BOLD line that is used to cartoon or animation. [1] Through reinterpretation and reconstruction of various objects, he shows his own visual arts with Bold line. [2]
Moreover, he was affected by the cartoon, hip hop and street culture, and he is working not only exhibition but also the collaboration project with the high-end brands, various of stores and worldwide companies such as Nike, Montblanc, Samsung, Honda, Medicom Toy and more. This is making his work is much more familiar with the public.
By the movement, he is doing an important role that is breaking the barrier between mainstream and non-mainstream, luxury and subculture in the modern art and industrial part.
