Skhumbuzo Kreed Chauke (born December 31, 1999), known professionally as Xreed, is a South African Artist, songwriter, record producer, music video director and photographer from Johannesburg, Gauteng.
In 2019, he went Independent from Retrospective Era , and had founded his own Passion and Skill to push him ahead, Dropped his first official song ever in 2020. He would then go on to found another Passion to follow, Photographer in The same year. Xreed has released one Ep so far ever since he went Independent, About Me, And also few singles along the way named Crazy, Make It Pop and The Real Creed along with the a collaboration with Barmyboypapi and Seismic Seine. He is well known for his Act of craziness in the public in the South African music Industry.
Early Life
[edit]Skhumbuzo Kreed Chauke was born on December 31, 1999 in Johannesburg, and was raised in the largely Black Township, Tembisa neighborhood of Johannesburg. He attended Glenvista High School, after moving away from Tembisa to live with his mother from his granny's house, where he was placed into special education classes. Xreed has been an passionate Gamer since the age of twelve, and many of his musical Lyrics feature him talking about games and all relations. He started writing songs at the age of fifteen years old, and took his hobby more seriously by 2020 which is the year the majority of the tracks from Xreed 's self-mastered Ep ,About Me. In 2019, Xreed and a group of cousin's(brothers and sisters) had lost their closest cousin who was the oldest of them all from a gunshot, killing him instantly. It was supposed to be him that guided him throughout his journey(career). Xreed, who finished out earlier that year, was sent to DJ Blanka where he spent a year learning more about the music industry. Upon his release in 2019 he began to pursue a career in music, purchased a microphone, and installed FL Studio (known as FruityLoops at the time) on his computer. He credits Joey Badass as the rapper that initially got him interested in hip hop music.
Career
[edit]2017-2019 : Career Beginnings
[edit]In 2017, at the age of 17 Xreed made his first performance ever in front of the whole school, Glenvista High School. The performance sparked MGL The Specialist, who happened to be a 36 year old experienced Artist. He took him in and helped him improve his skills and paid for his first studio-time. Later that year he made his first song ever called Benz, the song talked about his expectations on what he wants for himself in the next years to come in the music industry. In 2018, Xreed had a little disconnection with MGL and got stuck with school, but he continued writing music on his free time hoping he will get a chance to record them. His parents never approved the idea of him doing music which also delayed him on his journey, but the passion drove the young artist to keep doing what he could, like going to small latenight shows, freestyle fridays and small bedroom studios whenever he had some pocket money. In 2019 Xreed turned 19 and was doing his last year in high school. He met few friends in school who also did music and offered him to record for free in one of their studios, they became a group called The Retrospective Era, he worked with the group for the rest of the year in 2019. After that he went Independent on a journey to find himself as an Artist.
