Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Information icon Hello, I'm Newslinger. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Crumbling (album), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Rate Your Music and Discogs can't be used for article information, since they are mostly user-generated content. For album reviews, we have a list of English sources at WP:RSMUSIC and a list of Korean sources at WP:KO/RS#R. For general information on a song, listings from online music stores and official music streaming sites would better. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia! — Newslinger talk 04:17, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Kim Kim

[edit]

Hello, 올해의수상자. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Kim Kim".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. CptViraj (📧) 06:46, 16 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 03:00, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Shoegazing albums by Korean artists requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! You are a reasonably experienced edit, so I won't spell our rules out to you, just the following

  • I have to say that the titles of the refs you gave don't inspire confidence that they are reputable independent verifiable sources, but I don't read Korean, so I'll let that pass
  • There is no evidence that Visla meets the notability guidelines, no awards, circulation etx
  • You know you must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews. Instead we get Visla magazine has a maniacal popularity with its unique vision and writing style... a fast and in-depth magazine covering various subculture Even if your sources said that, and are actually reliable references, they are just spammy sounding opinions, not real objective facts. I obviously looked at some of your other articles, and you don't normally use this promotional tone Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:59, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your answer User:Jimfbleak. But I have to write a reliable source when writing an article on Wikipedia, but sometimes it can be a compliment to the subject of the article. In this case, I think there may be an unintentional promotional sentence. 올해의수상자 (talk) 13:03, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For example, "Visla Magazine was introduced as a notable new magazine in Elle." Phrases like this can be unintended promotional phrases. But this isn't something I'm trying to write for publicity, it's something I'm trying to prove how recognisable this magazine is, with a reliable source. 올해의수상자 (talk) 13:09, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think I've accused you of bad faith, I just think you've got it wrong in this one article. Incidentally, why is Elle an independent third-party source? I'm happy to restore as a draft if you wish. Incidentally, if you reply here, it's easier to ping me to let me know rather than also post on my talk Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:22, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A kitten for you!

[edit]

I am always pleased when editors (whether I agree with them on some point or not) put their money where their mouth is, as you did with EBS Hello Rookie Contest. You claim it's a notable thing, there's disagreement, so you write the article to prove your point: that's the way to do it. The cat says so too.

AfDs

[edit]

Hi, you asked me for advice about AfDs. Most AfDs are determined on the consensus of whether the subject of the article has received significant coverage in multiple reliable sources so that WP:GNG is passed. Subject specific notability guidelines are also a factor such as WP:NMUSIC for music related articles but GNG is normally the determining factor. In terms of the conduct at the AfD it is best to avoid lengthy arguments with other editors. An experienced editor wrote about AfDs that you are unlikely to convince the AfD nominator so it is best to appeal to the audience (those reading and deciding wthether to comment) and this is best done with polite reasoned policy based statements backed up by evidence of significant reliable sources coverage. Also AfDs can be influenced by the level of participation and there can be unusual results, so that the deletion review can be an option. Hope that helps, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 18:22, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your advice. I saw that the deletion discussion was mentioned in the document of the band I made. I didn't understand beauce this being in line with WP:GNG, but mentions it in the deletion discussion. Also, when I recorded Keep based on the evidence, I got a bad response from another user, and I was a little embarrassed. But maybe I should do it with a calm attitude.
Anyway, I can understand what you mean, it's also important that I appeal my opinion in the discussion, but maybe I think it's really important that I write a document so that no one else can talk about the deletion discussion. I mostly write rock bands and indie music articles. I came back to Wikipedia after about 2 years (I was here until 2021 and left here for a while), but I didn't get used to it at first because people seemed to be more sensitive about deletion criteria, than before. Maybe I should adjust more to this environment. Anyway, thank you for leaving me a good answer, @Atlantic306. I've written a lot of articles on Wikipedia, but I think I still have a lot to learn. 올해의수상자 (talk) 00:44, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
