- Hello, re the ISIL-KP article, the Kabul airport attack is probably the most well known thing about ISIL-KP at the moment, so removing mention of it in the lead would not make much sense. What's the logic? RECENTISM only applies to things likely to be forgotten in the longer run and everything in the lead MUST BE covered in the body of the article - the lead is a summary of the article. Pincrete (talk) 15:53, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Pincrete:, "the lead is the summary of the article", so why not mentioning some other previous events? Why mentioning a specific attack that happens like any other attacks before? 1.55.171.129 (talk) 16:07, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- The short answer is that killing over 100 people, mostly Muslim civilian countrymen is a pretty notable event and has attracted massive world-wide attention to a previously obscure group. The likelihood of this being forgotten is slim IMO. No policy says this should be excluded, but you are welcome to start a talk-page discussion or RfC if you don't agree. - @Pincrete: "obscure...", "notable...", "massive...",... all POV-pushing subjective opinions, you are editing in a wrong pattern and perception of encyclopedia; it's supposed to rooting out personal points of view in our editing behavior and focus on providing balanced content. The group is obscure before this or not, is a personal perception; anyone can choose any event they thought notable. 1.55.171.129 (talk) 06:56, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
- An unregistered IP with almost zero edits, and flawed English is trying to tell an editor with 40k edits and 9 years experience what he should do?

- Please don't ping again, the matter is closed as far as I am concerned. I repeat "you are welcome to start a talk-page discussion or RfC if you don't agree." Pincrete (talk) 07:49, 28 August 2021 (UTC)

. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 04:41, 1 September 2021 (UTC)- If this is a shared IP address and you are an uninvolved editor with a registered account, you may continue to edit by logging in.
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
