A user cannot erase a common and long-used term and change it for one that does not fit as well. See: Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not#Wikipedia is not censored. I have a relative of Romani descent so I am not in favor of slurring Romanis. This is one of those situations where, under Wikipedia guidelines, we cannot simply sanitize a fact because we think it is offensive.
