It is difficult to navigate our notability criteria, but for academics, generally, one of a few things ends up being required. See WP:ACADEMIC for the formal bits, but I'll try and translate that into English that hits the key points

Named chair or equivalent at a reputable university
Citation metrics demonstrating that the academic's work is widely cited -- the proper metrics vary by field, but "an h-index of 20" is not far wrong for many fields
Authorship of books that have received article-length or more reviews in two or more academic or reliable mainstream sources

There are certainly exceptions... generally academics who've developed an extraordinary amount of public fame in other ways, but for the most part, you'll likely need to show, through sources, that Broussard meets one of these three tests before this article will be accepted.

A quick glance at GScholar suggests that h-index isn't going to work, and I don't see a named chair. Perhaps Boussard's publications have received long-form reviews?
