Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Strategic planning . Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you.

See also WP:COI in case it might apply. --Ronz (talk) 22:42, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Ronz (talk) 00:41, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. The next time you insert a spam link, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Random comments about others beliefs

[edit]

Leaving statements like "I have learned for myself that your beliefs are not true" on user talk pages (picked seemingly at random) is inappropriate here at Wikipedia; this is especially disconcerting in that these messages are coming from an IP address belonging to the LDS Church. It might be less of an issue if this was merely a one time incident, but this seems to be reoccurring pattern, happening nearly monthly since the middle of 2010 (January 2011, Dec 2010, October 2010, September 2010, August 2010, another in August 2010, July 2010).

Please stop: these actions do not benefit the LDS Church, nor those WP users who receive these messages. Given your IP address, these posts could be misconstrued as official actions of the church itself, and not merely personal expressions coming from a misguided church employee/volunteer. This is coming across more like the actions of the protesters that show-up for General Conference &/or at LDS pageants, and it is shameful for a believing member of the LDS Church to behave in this manner.

Perhaps reading Elder M. Russell Ballard’s speech given at Brigham Young University Management Society in Washington, D.C., April 19, 2008 on how to use the internet to share the gospel would be a good idea: does he talk about disparaging the beliefs of others as an effective/useful activity? How about in his book Our Search for Happiness: An Invitation to Understand the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How about in Preach My Gospel? (Hint: no, none of these use or recommend this approach). -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 20:57, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Per this little bit of random trolling on my talk page, good for you. But as advised above, this isn't what wikipedia is for. Do it again, and we can go to WP:ANI or WP:AIV to get you blocked for trolling. Consider this your last warning on the matter, as it seems you have been warned for this exact thing several times. Heiro 22:47, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Per this repeated bit of religious trolling [1], you have been reported to WP:AIV. Heiro 18:14, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Message from a Wikipedia administrator alerted by a vandalism report: this is a final warning to whoever is adding these talk page comments. As you do it at fairly long intervals, a short block would have no effect; and as there are some users making constructive editrs from this IP, I am reluctant to impose a long block. However, if this nuisance continues, there will be no choice. So before you do it again, consider this: although they may make you feel good, assertions that other people's beliefs are not true have no effect on them except to irritate, and if you persist will result in a long block which will prevent constructive users of this IP from editing. So please stop. JohnCD (talk) 18:42, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Even as I wrote this message, another administrator was deciding that enough was enough. Still, bear it in mind after this block, because if there has to be another it will be longer. JohnCD (talk) 23:04, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

National varieties of English

[edit]

Information icon In a recent edit to the page William Wallace, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to India, use Indian English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Escape Orbit (Talk) 01:34, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to The Sixth Sense, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 16:29, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
