Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Phrases from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. SummerPhDv2.0 00:31, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Welcome!

[edit]

Hello! I noticed your contributions and wanted to welcome you to the Wikipedia community. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. You are welcome to edit anonymously; however, creating an account is free and has several benefits (for example, the ability to create pages, upload media and edit without one's IP address being visible to the public).

Just checking

[edit]

You recently asked someone invited me to notify you. As an unregistered editor you won't get a big notice at the top of every page (one of the many benefits or registering) so In was wondering, do you read you own talk page? If you do, please reply letting me know that you read this. Thanks! --Guy Macon (talk) 17:32, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I did not ask to be notified, but I did invite you. Your future notification will be welcome if you send it. Also, my notice at the top of every page is big enough. 84.120.7.178 (talk) 22:09, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Perhaps you can clear up what might be an error on my part. It has been over ten years since I last edited as an IP. Does Wikipedia now give IP users a notice when there are new messages on their talk pages? They didn't before, but that was a long time ago. --Guy Macon (talk) 23:48, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it does. They should see: You have a new message (last change). 84.120.7.178 (talk) 21:00, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Again, thanks. Good to know that the software that runs Wikipedia now gets this right. --Guy Macon (talk) 00:55, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome. 84.120.7.178 (talk) 22:25, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Inclusion

[edit]

I have noticed your seemingly non-inclusive activity regarding the WikiProject Inclusion membership list. I'm puzzled as to why you regard me as inactive, and where you found that activity criteria. Thewellman (talk) 00:08, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have transferred our discussion to the WikiProject Inclusion talk page to invite comments by other project members. Thewellman (talk) 04:08, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Inclusion#Status as of 2020 --Guy Macon (talk) 04:49, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
