Please can you tell me why a horrible event the sack of Berwick is being termed the Capture of Berwick, it seems a little bit of a pro genocide term for a horrible event

MOS:FIRST is the reason. If you think it should be called the Sack of Berwick, you should start a discussion on the article talk page. If others agree with you, the article can be moved to the new title, and the first sentence amended accordingly.
