From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A tag has been placed on ALBD, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please also familiarize yourself with the conflict of interest policy. From the deleted Active living by design talk page

[edit]

I'm creating the Wikipedia entry for Active Living by Design. It's a non-profit project that has no commercial endeavors. I'm having a hard time understanding why a page about our organization is considered adverising or even "vandalism". Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ALbD Communications (talkcontribs)

Non-profits advertise all the time. Our standards do not distinguish between commercial and non-commercial enterprises. It was clearly self-promotional and advertorial, and quite frankly read like a press release, nothing like an encyclopedic article. Fan-1967 22:01, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore, please read the Conflict of Interest guidelines that are applied to everyone at Wikipedia. You should not be creating (and even limiting any editing) of articles that your username suggests that you are affiliated with. It destroys the neutrality required of all editors when working on articles here. The gist is that if the ALbD program is notable, per WP:CORP or WP:ORG, then more than likely someone else will write an article about it/you. Thanks. ju66l3r 22:16, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
