Regarding a comment on my talk page

[edit]

Hi - a user had started a thread about the unreliability of a wiki which is presumed to be yours on my talk page. To clear up any confusion and give context to why this user had started this thread on your Great America wiki, I had reverted a GF edit they made on Six Flags Great America page due to the fact Wikipedia generally cannot accept user generated websites as reliable sources, which led to the thread being made on your Great America wiki talk page. Hopefully this clears up confusion (and nice wiki, keep up the good work!) Harobouri🎢🏗️ (he/himWP:APARKS) 21:07, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! Thank you for alerting me to that thread. I was a little puzzled as to why that user was saying that 'Wikipedia' had called the site unreliable but now I see what they were referring to. I completely understand that policy (I'm sure Wikipedia would be a mess if you could cite user generated sources) and I don't mind. The wiki is really just more of a little side project that's trying to piece together all the info scoured around the internet about a somewhat poorly documented topic but thanks to that thread, I'm trying to cite things as best as possible to foment trust in the project. I'm happy that you think it's a nice wiki and I'd also like to say that you've been doing a great job on the Great America article and all the articles you've contributed to here on Wikipedia!
