Dutch windmill articles

[edit]

Please feel free to check out all articles in Category:Windmills in the Netherlands and its sub-categories and correct any mistakes you find. A word re building dates, which we seem to treat different to the Dutch.

Scenario Smock mill built in 1798. burnt down in 1845. New smock mill built in 1846 to replace it. This mill was demolished to base level in 1937. The mill is restored in 1955, with a new smock on the original base. In this case the date used is 1955, not 1845 or 1798.

Another area you can help with is by adding photos to the various lists of Dutch windmills, these are listed by province. Please join our Wikiproject on mills. Mjroots (talk) 03:45, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

De Hollandsche Molen

[edit]

Thanks for your help! Feel free to help out there. There's more to be said, on their miller project for instance, and I'd like to be able to prove more decisively what the status of the database is. And is 'president' the right term for Stokhuyzen? Thanks, Drmies (talk) 23:38, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late response, I don't come on english wikipedia often, I am more active on NL. In the infobox, I choose Chairman, which is I think a synoniem for President, although the latter suggests more authority. Best to use the same term on both places, I will leave it to you which one. In dutch it is simply 'voorzitter'. Akoopal (talk) 08:20, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Molendatabase

[edit]

Thanks, I am aware that there is an English version of the site, but all the really useful information / history is on the Dutch language version. Mjroots (talk) 08:38, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: 100 mills

[edit]

I can't take all the credit for them. Most of the mills outside Drenthe and Friesland were not created by me. Another editor did create a load of very short stubs on Friesland mills, which I later turned into full articles. I doubt that there will be a 100% match as I don't intend to cover tjaskers individually, and will only do a very few windmotors, such as the Herkules at Koog aan de Zaan. Entreprise, Kolham

[edit]

Andre, do you know of anyone in Groningen that can get a photo of Entreprise that was re-erected earlier this month? Mjroots (talk) 11:09, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not really, We still miss a lot of pictures of existing mills in Groningen as well. Akoopal (talk) 22:09, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
