Welcome to Wikipedia! I regularly haunt the Virginia history/architecture/cultural resource areas, and noticed a new face professing an interest in that area/articles, so I just wanted to welcome you, and offer myself (even though I am relatively new) if you would like any help. Actually, the easiest way to respond to a post is just to put it beneath the previous one on whatever page it is started on - it'll show me when you've responded without needing to keep track of stuff on two pages! : ) As for the infobox, I went ahead and did it on the Hugh Mercer Apothecary page, as the ones for contributing properties can be a bit tricky (it helps that I went to undergrad in F-burg and know that place quite well). But surely you want to know actually HOW. For an intro to the National Register infoboxes (what all the fields mean, etc.), see this page: Template:Infobox NRHP. For a broader introduction and style-guide to doing national register-related pages in wikipedia, (as well as a link to a generator tool to help automatically fill in the box for independently listed properties/districts, using the NPS database), see this page: Wikipedia:WikiProject National Register of Historic Places/Style guide. If that isn't enough, try the Wikipedia:WikiProject National Register of Historic Places. The NatReg is, from the best I can tell, given a lot of respect here, and some argue that being on the register strongly weights in favor of something being notable enough for Wikipedia. I'm fairly sure most properties of Preservation Virginia are on the National Register or are "contributing properties" within a district (i.e. not listed individually, but nevertheless recognized as playing a role) -- if not, there are substitutes depending on what sort of "thing" it is. Indeed, if you have been pondering creating pages for some that don't already have them, go for it! Finally, in response to your conflict of interest statement (thank you for acknowledging it), I think as long as you stick to using verifiable factual information, and avoid what is termed "peacock language" (see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (words to watch)), that you should pretty okay under the "cultural sector" exception to the Conflict of Interest guidelines (see WP:CURATOR). If you are not certain about whether something is probably okay (or feel better having a third party involved), I'd be glad to help look at it.
