Image copyright problem with Image:Welcome_Hotel_Rozelle_c1930.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Welcome_Hotel_Rozelle_c1930.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

Category: Australian drinking establishments
[edit]Hi, I am looking to do some cleanup on the articles in the above but I'm stuck with what the naming convention should be. Most of them are just called: Pub name or Pub Name, Suburb. I took a look around and read some of the naming convention articles and see three options: Pub name, Suburb OR Pub name, Suburb, State OR Pub name, Suburb, Australia. The o/seas pubs aren't much help either. Can I get your thoughts on this? amitch 13:08, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
Hello Amitch. I will post it to WP:AWNB, the Australian Wikipedians Noticeboard, where the Australian Wikipedians hang around. They will probably have come across this before. You should keep an eye on this as there are a lot of pertinent issues there for Australian Wikipedians. Regards, ßlηguγΣη | Have your say!!! - review me 00:04, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
Your recent edit of Balmain removed (probably accidentally) a large portion of the article. I have reverted it back to the previous version and added in your changes to the median house value. Hope the end result is what you were planning! amitch 11:33, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm very sorry about that. It's this silly bug in Google Toolbar for Firefox at the moment (I've already had to self-revert a couple of changes. I think I need to be a little more careful about it). Thanks for cleaning up my mess! Chovain 14:06, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Balmain Reservoir Picture 1.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Balmain Reservoir Picture 1.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Waddamanna
[edit]In your list of to dos you have it as from plural to single on the station/s word - is there any need for that? SatuSuro 13:39, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oh and impressed by your geo clump at the bottom of some of the tassie power station arts - it seems it would be good to have the coords in the text on the page of the art as well - as I am slowly doing a whole lot of tassie locations (ie west coast range etc) with coords visible - it would fit in as well - are your coords gleaned from the geoscience australia web page or elsewhere? SatuSuro 13:44, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- According to the Hydro Tasmania website, the power stations are known as Waddamanna and Waddamanna B. Other instances of this are:
- Loy Yang, which is one article but two power stations (A and B)
- Murray 1 and 2, which are separate arts.
- Tumut 1, 2 and 3 which are separate arts.
- The only plural I have seen is the existing Waddamanna art, hence my suggestion to make it singular. To be honest though, I don't mind either way.
- As for the geo clump, this was on numerous other arts so I just followed suit a long while ago. It's nice and compact and the coords also appear in the top right hand corner of the art. In the case of Power Stations, I'd say there is a strong case for an infobox (with coords) at some stage. In the main, the coords do come from Geoscience however I check each individual one and have had to adjust the accuracy on a number of them. amitch 14:00, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

- Hey thanks for the info, sorry I'm a bit slow on all of this - its up to you it dosnt matter to me if wadda is a plural or singular really... I am trying a infobox (slowly) for the west coast range for the mountains - it is possible that one for lakes and man made lakes on the west coast might worth a startup as well. interesting that you need to check the coords!SatuSuro 14:11, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Re: Balmain Pubs
[edit]You left a few wise words on the Balmain Pubs talk page a couple of days ago, all of which I agree with. I am going to do some work on this article in the next couple of days and at this stage am working towards splitting it into two (Balmain / Rozelle), cleaning up, adding links / references and xrefing each article to the other. I was just wondering if you had anything else to add into the mix beforehand? amitch 08:25, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry about the delay in my response - I have now responded in the list's talk page. I've been busy with a couple of other bits and pieces (mainly RL work-life). If there's anything I can do to help with the lists or the pub articles, let me know (Ahh - If only we were allowed to do original research ;)). Chovain 10:03, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Sydney Harbour Bridge
[edit]Well. I could. :) But it's a major pain. I'll email the oversight folks and have them remove it. Thanks for the heads up. --Woohookitty(meow) 11:27, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
ISBN
[edit]- Erm where to start...
- SB spotted the 9 digit incorrect number and labelled it with invalid
- You changed the number by adding an X on using AWB (presumably having got the X from the above library?), but changed it in the invalid tag as well.
- SB changed the name of the tag to something considered politer.
So no problem, you could simply remove the tag. I have done so for Ballast Point, and hyphenated the ISBN 1-86448-408-X. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 09:41 9 September 2006 (GMT).

Talk of AfD on pubs
[edit]Not sure if you've already seen this, but there are questions being raised about the notability of many of the List of pubs in Balmain and List of pubs in Rozelle articles at Wikipedia:Australian_Wikipedians'_notice_board#Corkman_Irish_Pub.2C_Carlton. I thought you might be interested in taking part in the discussion. Chovain 22:53, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
