Speedy deletion of Charlie lavallee

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Charlie lavallee requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Kesac (talk) 22:17, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

attack page creation

[edit]

If he's Charlie, you must be Tim. I always give fairly strong warnings for attack pages. You might want to ask him about that other page he created. He speaks unfavorably of you and derides your sense of humor. Hopefully we can put this behind us. I'll remove the warning I placed. Dlohcierekim 03:38, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: User talk:Kesac#sorry: If your brother wants to contribute to the project in a good way and he understands da rules, he's welcome to get his own account. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 04:08, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, whoever or whatever is going on, hopefully you will edit constructively. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 02:39, 26 December 2008 (UTC)`[reply]

Proposed deletion of Favorite (personal)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Favorite (personal), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

dictionary definition

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy deletion of Dance Me If You Can

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Dance Me If You Can requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

Scjessey (talk) 22:25, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

[edit]

Thanks for the message. It is a bad idea to spend much time on your userpage; it sets bad precedent, after all this is an encyclopedia, not myspace. I'd suggest contributing more to articles. Ironholds (talk) 22:28, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In addition... about you welcoming new users. I'd suggest using one of the standard welcome templates such as {{Template:Welcome}} to direct them to various important policies and pages. I'd avoid personal welcomes saying they can come to you for advice; the talk page messages above me indicate that you don't yourself understand policies well enough to adequately inform new users. Ironholds (talk) 22:33, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And.. Please don't post unhelpful comments like "Luke Benward is hot and I am his biggest fan" as you did at Talk:Luke Benward. Talk pages are for discussing the article, not the subject of the article. Ironholds (talk) 22:35, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I've been dating someone for the past two and a half years. While wikipedia does include an element of socialising, we are here to write an encyclopedia. Talking about "how hot" a person is on their article talk page, sending out messages to get people to check out your new userpage design and indeed spending all your on-wiki time working on that userpage is something for myspace, not Wikipedia. Ironholds (talk) 06:26, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If a page is deleted, it's talk page is typically deleted as well. Re-creating the talk page makes it immediately eligible for speedy deletion under criteria G8. See the logs for the deletion history of this talk page and WP:SPEEDY criteria "8" in the "General" section for what G8 deletion means. Sorry.

Looking at your edits, it looks like you are interested in some of the very topics Wikipedia covers, and you probably have more time than most people to write a good article. However, you don't yet have a good grasp of what is "notable" vs. what's "not notable enough" for inclusion here, nor do you yet have the experience to write a good article unassisted. I and I'm sure others here would be more than happy to help you find topics that you find interesting that are notable and which badly need articles, and help you write quality articles. May I recommend you look through the list of WikiProjects and pick one you like, and work with the editors in that project to make Wikipedia a better encyclopedia?

If you want ongoing one-on-one help, User Adoption is available.

Your input is valuable, even if it may not seem like it with all the deletions. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 23:36, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
