Image tagging for Image:Bcgeasyshare.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bcgeasyshare.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Fair use rationale for Image:Arthur7171

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Arthur7171. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. utcursch | talk 10:18, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Sweetsassy.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sweetsassy.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:56, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Centerparcs, Whinfell Forest

[edit]

Hi Arthur7171. Thanks for adding the information about Centerparcs to the Whinfell Forest page. Whinfell Forest exists independently of Centerparcs. Centerparcs is a tenant of the Lowther Estates who own the forest. I've re-inserted some material that had been deleted when the information about Centerparcs was added, and done some slight restructuring to reinstate the difference between the forest and the holiday village. Advice on Center Parcs articles

[edit]

I mean no offence, but in my view as an experienced editor here in Wikipedia, I don't think Center Parcs Longleat Forest is worth keeping beyond the first section plus two sentences about accommodation. As it stands, it is in danger of being deleted altogether, see WP:ADVERT.

My best advice is that you don't create the full set of separate articles suggested by the navigation box, but a combined article, perhaps List of Center Parcs. The ones that have some history such as Whinfell Forest can remain as separate articles, but any like Longleat should become just a redirect to the list.

Maybe you might create a more complex table to summarise the numerical stuff. However, a list article doesn't have to be a bare list; you should keep any genuinely interesting local titbits about each site, probably as separate sections following the table.

This may come as rather depressing advice as I see you have put a lot of work into the editing you have done, but I hope you can accept it from an experienced hand. I've had stuff deleted that I had worked hard on too, but in the end I realised that it made for a better encyclopedia. Regards, Fayenatic (talk) 17:46, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to England players

[edit]

Hi. Please would you not update players' appearances before the match has even started. According to your edits, Steven Gerrard (for example) had 68 caps for England before yesterday's match. Apart from being wrong, it's really misleading to those who come along later. If they see the last update was timed before the match, they assume the stats haven't yet been updated, so add on another appearance or goal without bothering to check what the facts actually are. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 08:08, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Center Parcs Longleat Forest, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Center Parcs Longleat Forest and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Dan1980 (talk ♦ stalk) 17:11, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:Euro 2008 new.png

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:Euro 2008 new.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Euro 2008 new.png|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Sdrtirs (talk) 22:21, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removing relegation colours from the 2010 FIFA World Cup groups

[edit]

I notice you've removed the red relegation colours without adding comments. Any particular reason? --Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:42, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The elimination colour is no longer needed because all group games have been played and all the group winners and runners up have been confirmed, so its clear which 16 teams are no longer in the tournament. The elimination colours are only needed while the group is still active.
That's not quite the case. European leagues continue to display the relegation colours after the end of the season. You may find a revolt when the Brits wake up. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 21:30, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
They're kept for the European leagues because otherwise it would be unclear who was relegated, in tournament football as soon as the group stage is completed it becomes clear immediatley.

The article Sweet & Sassy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable, extremely short-lived television program.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hey Arthur7171

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 21:26, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Upgrading league table templates

[edit]

Hi,

Thanks for updating the league table templates this season.

There is a reason why I had not created the table templates for upcoming seasons and I thought I should mention why, since you have been a bit involved in updating the templates this season.

First of all there is consensus at WT:FOOTY to remove the years name it only "Premier League table" or "Current Premier League table" so we can use same template season after season without creating new one s every season. Just substitute the template on the pages it is used and then reset it with new teams. This can be read at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 84#Template:2013–14 X league table‎ or Template:Current X league table and this TfD. Already renamed template are for example Template:Current Fußball-Bundesliga table‎.

Secondly this templates use helper templates such as template:PL13 which is used and this template is maybe to be removed. The templates has had a lot of problems with editors not updating the helper template so that is why a new solution is considered. There has been a new solution presented to me at User talk:Qed237#League tables (by an other editor working hard with these templates) where helper template must not be updated. This can currently be seen at {{2014–15 Eredivisie table}} and Template:2014–15 Eredivisie table/layout. I am/was strongly considering implementing that when a few minor "issues" is solved.

Thirdly the template:fb cl team is supposed to be replaced by template:fb cl2 team by WT:FOOTY consensus and a TfD. This since a lot of uneccessary fb team templates should be removed. I have wikilinks to consensus somewhere if you need them.

Just letting you know so that you dont get surprised if the templates gets a major overhauling this summer and look different next season. If you have any questions or thoughts that is very appreciated. Just let me know on my talkpage if you have any comments or questions. Thank you. QED237 (talk) 21:52, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Center Parcs Sherwood Forest

[edit]

The article Center Parcs Sherwood Forest has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability; minimal Google results

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
