Thanks for reviewing me!

[edit]

Thanks! I was shocked to see that when I looked at the editor reviews, I had actually been reviewed! Thanks for the compliments too. Based on your review, I think I will join a wikiproject, most likely WP:SEVERE or WP:TROP. Science and weather are my interests, too!

Thanks again! Inferno, Lord of Penguins 22:20, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Editor Review

[edit]

Thanks for taking the time to offer feedback on my editor review. I appreciate the advice. Best wishes for the new year. ;o) --OliverTwisted (Talk) (Stuff) 08:57, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your revert is unfounded. The whole section is uneeded and not referenced correctly. If one event, which is not exactly notable, is listed, then EVERY single crash and/or death should be listed. Please respond here if you disagree or would like to talk about it. Mrmcdonnell (talk) 01:05, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

revert

[edit]

Can you revert the Doctor Who (revived series) any further as someone has deleted all the information i had entered; it took me some time and i am very annoyed someone did this without discussion. Pic Editor960 (talk) 21:41, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I brought this subject up in the Discussion Page for doctor who (have not yet recieved a reply) but i brought up the point that most people want to read about the current series and it is quite hard to find information on the new series on that page. I have started re-creating this page (before i got your reply) will i just exit out of that tab and leave and forget about a separate page for the revived series? Pic Editor960 (talk) 21:48, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Or i could even possibly put on a main article still linked with the mother page Doctor Who just giving an easier way of gaining information easier put not a page of its own. Thanks for your replies Pic Editor960 (talk) 21:56, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah i get it so i will basically put in a section with the name revival give it about 10 lines explaining the revival and then have a see also above. Thanks for your help! Pic Editor960 (talk) 22:08, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What do you think of my article now, Doctor Who (revived series)?
Thanks, I Have Made Some Changes That Cant be seen on the main article now; the information i have entered was just sort of an introductory thing. lol. I have no idea how to enter a content table can you give me a sort of template thing? Pic Editor960 (talk) 22:36, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Any style just what you think is best for the article ;) WB Pic Editor960 (talk) 22:43, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a bundle for reverting these edits to my talk page. So, so nice to see fellow wikipedians fighting Vandals. I was quite surprised to see my own talk page appear on huggle. Even better, someone else(You and Jake Wartenburg) reverted and warned. Admin Ice Cold Beer ultimatly blocked said user.. Cheers!

Huh?

[edit]

How was this a vandal edit, let alone one requiring a final warning? – iridescent 22:15, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I had a look at his other edits to articles and User:IRP and to me at that point it looked like he was posting theses spam messages around, and he did this twice and therefore, the 3rd and last warnings came up. I had one like this yesterday nd he was blocked for the same thing. Anyway, I am off to see what I can do to help him now, if he is reverting in good faith. Regards. Andy (talk) 22:21, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Negev

[edit]

I edited the Negev entry. The bit on toxic waste was described under the heading "Geology". The geology section was concerned with the present day lansforms which is not really geology. I am (in practical terms)new to wikipedia - let me know if this is the wrong way to discuss this —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jinxman1 (talkcontribs) 22:26, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

[edit]

Thanks for reverting on my Sandbox, but it was just me, not signed on. I thought that if it's a Sandbox I don't need to sign on every time I change something - I figured it wouldn't matter. Oh, well. Rimush (talk) 13:35, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Glad you are Back

[edit]

Thanks :). I see that you are doing very well with your contributions. Keep it up! One word of advice is that I see you have made a few mistakes reverting edits. It's not a huge concern as you did acknowledge them, but just try to watch a bit more closely when you are doing anti-vandal work. As for the book... I'm stuck on chapter 4. Thanks for the welcome back. R.T. 19:09, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am not an administrator, and have gone through 5 unsuccessful nominations. I have waited a while, and 12 admins resigned this week, but I'm not sure yet. R.T. 17:06, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I went through two premature noms (at two and three months into Wikipedia), one non-accepted nom, and one bad one. I gues you could say the five weren't that bad. I'll think about it for a while, but may go off line because my area is being pummeled by snow right now, and that means shoveling :(. R.T. 17:14, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of My Awards

[edit]

A tag has been placed on My Awards requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Hi, and thanks for your help on the Sikh Vegetarian article. I am having problems keeping up with this fellows reverts and was wondering whether you could help me? I am concerned about his page too, as he states he wishes to push a POV.--Sikh-history (talk) 15:34, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks--Sikh-history (talk) 15:39, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Andy. If you look at the discussion,Sikhism Prohibitions, you will find that theseissues have been discussed there. Cheers --Sikh-history (talk) 15:55, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Andy, I was talking about the wikipedia consensus reached on this issue. I have found this essay by Dr Gurbaksh Singh, most enlightening on this issue. Also the Sikh Code of Conduct is explicit on this issue. The link is from the Sikh governing body in India. --Sikh-history (talk) 23:19, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Andy, I have no problems with edits, but where a whole section of refrenced text is deleted for no reason and no discussion, then it must be restored back. I there is a problem with refrences then they should be highlighted and text not deleted. The problem, me and user Roadahead encounter is swathes of unrefrenced text being copy and pasted here from Sikhiwiki (which has no affiliation to wikipedia). This occured sometime back with User HariSingh. It seems to be occuring again. People have spent hours (if not days) coming to consensus and refrencing material, for it to be deleted.--Sikh-history (talk) 11:52, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm off to Toys r Us to get some presents for the kids :p . Bye--Sikh-history (talk) 12:03, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think Roadahead will deal with any POV view issues. Thanks for all your help. Regards --Sikh-history (talk) 18:19, 11 January 2009 (UTC)--Sikh-history (talk) 18:19, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I can see too many scriptural references that vegetarianism is part of The Sikh requirement, now of course there will be those who Sikhs who wear a turban and frequent a pub and eat a hot dog, but I dont think we are discussing sikh students at university experimenting with skunk etc. What I really want to refer to is texts from the Guru Granth Sahib. There is nothing in the book that says one must eat flesh, on the contrary, many times it states clearly that one must not (Kurahit)

I know there is a 'meat' lobby in the sikh community who wish to alter the facts to suit their requirement, but again, thats not the issue and can neither be an excuse to alter scriptural and their purports. Khalsaburg (talk) 00:15, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe these are not Sikhs http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8G8gUr9fIKc and maybe they are not performing Jhatka at Hazoor Sahib. Maybe the goats blood is not being used to cover the 10th Guru's weapons. On the contrary, it is the vegetarian lobby that is blind to the history of Sikhism. Although I am vegetarian, I am not blind to such things. Regards--Sikh-history (talk) 15:58, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
