If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Female Struggle requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Skr15081997 (talk) 08:28, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on The Female Struggle, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Hi, thanks for message. The article was deleted as spam by another admin prior to my deletion. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Nothing you wrote tells us how it meets the criteria, and you had no third-party references.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: Read “The Female Struggle” to find out Anita’s story... you help a socially challenged woman when you buy a copy of this book... Every single purchase goes a long way in making a difference to a poor tribal woman.— spam, spam, spam.
  • Other sales pitches include The book is available worldwide on www.amazon.com. Both kindle and paperback editions are available. In India, the book is available on amazon, and other leading online stores like flipkart and bookadd.com—promoting your sales sites as well as spam-linking
  • And spam for the organisation too. Avika is an NGO that works for the betterment of poor, tribal women... More information is available on their website

Apart from the plot summary, the whole article is aimed at pushing the book. You have an obvious conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about this subject. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that your book is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. My Response

[edit]

Thanks very much for the feedback. The article has now been re-written deleting all the content which appeared promotional in nature. Only the book summary is retained.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Female Struggle, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. smileguy91talk 19:59, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As a note, I have removed the speedy deletion tag, because it was not applicable to this article. However, I have proposed the article for deletion as the book does not appear to be notable. Further, I have rewritten the plot summary as it appears to have been copied verbatim from this source, which is a violation of Wikipedia's copyright violation policy. Finally, based on the similarity of your username to the name of the author of this book, I urge you to consider whether you have a conflict of interest regarding this subject. Wikipedia is not a place to promote your own works. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:13, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Atrivedi008. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:12, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
