Melbourne Aces

[edit]

First, thanks for contributing. If you've got a particular interest in Australian baseball, feel free to head over to the Australian baseball task force, and sign up to become a member. We're a small group of people who share the interest, and try to keep articles up to date that fall under our purview.

I'm a bit concerned though, about a couple of elements to your edits of the Melbourne Aces article. One is the copyright of the cap logo that (I assume) you selected when you uploaded it. Unless you're involved with the Aces themselves and are in a position to declare otherwise, that would come under some form of copyright and should be acknowledged, similarly to the main logo for the Aces, and so probably shouldn't be on Commons. The other part is that you changed the article to use a different infobox, away from the one that was set up especially for the ABL teams, which included being able to show the uniform, and participation in finals, and championships both at the ABL level and at the Asia Series that ABL Champs (such as the Perth Heat later this year) get to participate in. Generally when that sort of thing has been setup, its a good idea to go to the article's talk page - or the talk page of the project that looks after the article, in this case the task force talk page - and seek consensus there for the change, unless there's a Wikipedia rule or guideline that says something should be removed or changed straight away.  Afaber012  (talk)  09:47, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The logo's going to have to be taken down from Commons, then uploaded at Wikipedia with the correct license information provided before it can be displayed on the page. Take a look at how the other logos - either ABL team logos or MLB team/cap logos - are seen on Wikipedia and you'll see what I'm taking about.  Afaber012  (talk)  05:57, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Melbourne Heart FC, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.
