Sandbox draft

[edit]

Hi! I saw that you moved your sandbox live - I wanted to give you some notes, as it was moved back to your sandbox.

The first note is that the article reads as more of an essay than a Wikipedia article, as it looks like you're more reflecting and investigating Democracy Earth and whether it can create change. Some of the content comes across as original research, which are claims, theories, and conclusions that you created that aren't explicitly stated in source material. There's also some content that isn't specifically about Democracy Earth per se and is more general, like the 'Risks of Online-Voting Platforms' section. The issue with this section is that we can't really have sections like that on an article like this unless it's a criticisms section that is summarizing criticisms that people have made about Democracy Earth itself. Something general like this would be better suited for a general article about online voting platforms.

The sourcing also needs to be improved - Wikipedia cannot be used as a source on here since anyone can edit it. The sources also need to back up the claims - we can only summarize what authorities have stated in reliable sources. If the source doesn't mention Democracy Earth then it's not really a great source to use in the article, as the only way to really use it would be to create original research unless it's there to back up what is cited in a reliable source that does cover the platform. On this note, you also need to find more non-primary reliable sources. Primary sources can back up basic details, but it cannot show notability. What you need are reliable sources that go into depth about Democracy Earth and aren't by someone or an organization who is affiliated with Democracy Earth.

Right now the article isn't really ready to be moved, as it needs more work. I hope that the above notes helps! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:17, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
