Lynching of Wilbur Little ‎ ready for DYK

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for getting Lynching of Wilbur Little started. I've fleshed it out a bit. At this point, it's ready for WP:DYK. Would you like to submit it? I can do it, but given that you started it, the honor should be yours. -- RoySmith (talk) 16:06, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I am a noob and the ways of WP are still a little overwhelming to me. I am thankful for your additions and your kindness, but defer to you on submitting for WP:DYK. Thank you. BTV55 (talk) 16:48, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've submitted it in both our names. See Template_talk:Did_you_know#Articles_created/expanded_on_July_18. The review process isn't quick; I'd expect anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months. Thanks again for starting this article. -- RoySmith (talk) 17:51, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
BTV55, This just got promoted to the prep queue. I'm not sure how fast the queues are running these days. You can probably expect to see it on the front page in a week or two. -- RoySmith (talk) 17:27, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. BTV55 (talk) 17:58, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Surprise! I reviewed the nomination at Template:Did you know nominations/Lynching of Wilbur Little. There's just one quibble, per the rule which states "Each fact in the hook must be supported in the article by at least one inline citation to a reliable source, appearing no later than the end of the sentence(s) offering that fact". Hopefully that can be easily resolved. All the best (and welcome to wikipedia) Mujinga (talk) 22:09, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Mujinga, I've taken care of that. See my comments in the template. -- RoySmith (talk) 23:29, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Lynching of Wilbur Little

[edit]

On 10 August 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Lynching of Wilbur Little, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Wilbur Little was lynched for wearing his World War I uniform after being discharged from the army? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Lynching of Wilbur Little. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Lynching of Wilbur Little), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
