Information icon Your recent edit to List of messiah claimants appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person or organization added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Bob's Game. czar 07:29, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for your edits. Wanted to leave a few notes. First, if you're affiliated with Bob's Game, you should note this on the article's talk page, per our Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guidelines. Ideally you should leave your edits for someone else to approve if you have an affiliation. Also your rewrite of the article adds a lot of unreferenced assertions. Please use the vetted video game sources to only add sentences that can be attributed to a reliable, secondary source. Primary sources are a last resort. Also see this link for when to mark an edit as minor. czar 17:03, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do this in the future, thank you. I am new to Wikipedia. Bobsgame (talk) 17:35, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

When in the future do you plan to "leave your edits for someone else to approve"? You've completely taken over the article instead. Please reread and consider actually following this advice. Reach Out to the Truth 03:00, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I mostly only added images after the warning, and a very small amount of text. I haven't removed anything significant that was there- I only balanced it, mostly with images taken from timestamped videos which already existed on the web. If the article seems "taken over" it's because it was extremely biased in the first place due to 4chan trolls, which is a poor representation of what Wikipedia stands for. The article is still poor quality and not actually representative of the real story, but it's at least not a complete wreck. Bobsgame (talk) 03:37, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I have added my affiliation note on the article's talk page as requested and I will continue citing any additions. Who do I contact to have future edits reviewed? Bobsgame (talk) 18:34, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Do you own the copyright to the images you uploaded? If so, we need your Wikipedia:Consent sent to the "OTRS" email address at the bottom that page (from an official email address, confirming you are the copyright holder—this would ostensibly also mean that you are Perroni unless someone else legally holds the copyright). Otherwise the images will have to be deleted if we cannot confirm they are yours to license under Creative Commons. czar 16:11, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I have added my affiliation note on the article's talk page as you requested, and I sent in the consent form to the OTRS email address. Thank you for assisting me in improving this article, it is greatly appreciated. Bobsgame (talk) 18:34, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If other editors are watching the page, the usual process is to propose a rephrasing on the talk page and someone else will add it to the article if they agree. If the page doesn't get much traffic, you can leave a note at the video games WikiProject and someone will swoop in to help. It's easier when the edits are in small succession, as right now an editor would need to check the whole article (since it has been almost wholly rewritten). I can't help with that right now, but let me know if there's anything else I can offer. Welcome to Wikipedia! czar 18:51, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Video games

[edit]

Hey Bobsgame—thanks for your recent contributions. I noticed your interest in Wikipedia's video game content and thought you might be interested in the video games WikiProject. We've done some great work (over 250 pieces of Featured content and over 800 Good articles), but there is plenty more to do. Come say hello on our talk page, participate in our current events, or let me know if I can help with anything. Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope I'll see you around. czar 17:40, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I may participate in this as I learn how to use Wikipedia better. Bobsgame (talk) 18:27, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

April 2016

[edit]

Hi there. Please take a look over at WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY. It's really, strongly discouraged for one to write their own biography on Wikipedia. And the rare occasion when its deemed acceptable is usually in regards to removing blatant vandalism, not creating an article from scratch yourself. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 14:51, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Robert Pelloni page already existed as a redirect, which didn't seem correct because I am an individual, not a video game. I also intend to continue to contribute to the world in meaningful ways outside the scope of the game, so the page is a useful place to note other works that don't make sense on the Bob's Game page. Robert Pelloni (talk) 15:48, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I know it was a redirect, but you were the only one to spin it out to an article, and added all of the content, which goes against WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY. Also, names are commonly redirected to games or other media they create or have associations to, if the only context of them being mentioned on Wikipedia is through that subject.
For example, Masami Ishikawa redirects to Sega Genesis. This is because discussion arrived to the conclusion that he did not meet the WP:GNG by himself. However, since he was mentioned at the Sega Genesis article, and primarily just there, he was redirected there, so if someone was searching on him, they'd at least see a bit about him. It's common practice. It can be nominated for deletion at WP:RFD but your argument above wouldn't fly. You'd have to have more of a reasoning along the lines of "Its not a plausible search term" or "The subject is unlikely to ever become notable or something a reader would ever search for", a thought process I doubt you'd subscribe to considering your attempt to create the article yourself... 3RR

[edit]

You may want to read Wikipedia's WP:3RR policy as well. You've reverted 3 times at the article you have a COI with and if an Admin catches you do it a 4th time, you'll likely receive a short block. As I mentioned on the article talk page, the WP:BURDEN is on you to create a WP:CONSENSUS in your favor before re-adding information. Continually just re-adding content without consensus when others object, can get you blocked from editing. Sergecross73 msg me 16:36, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Bob's game Outside test.webm

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Bob's game Outside test.webm. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:05, 23 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 15:20, 26 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I am one person, not an organization. I did not create the Wikipedia page for my game and I only made edits to correct non-factual information and support my claims, so I am not promoting or advertising.

Decline reason:

Firstly, naming your Wikipedia account after your game is still inappropriate: See WP:SPAMNAME. Secondly, "correcting non-factual information" would hardly result in doubling the size of the article. I also see a lack of reliable secondary sources in your additions, but instead gofundme.com links. Huon (talk) 21:21, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

"Doubling the size of the article" was in fact necessary because the quality of the information there is so poor. It is written by trolls to deliberately portray me as badly as possible, containing downright incorrect information, and it has been a major disservice to me for a long time. There are many secondary sources and links. Crowdfunding links were not active and were added as secondary sources as they contain relevant information and are dated.Robert Pelloni (talk) 21:33, 27 January 2017 (UTC) I also created a GoFundMe at one time for an educational video game intended to replace all K-12 education, which was essentially supposed to just be a manifesto, with the target goal set to 1 billion dollars which was obviously not possible to be reached. I will host the manifesto somewhere more appropriate and add that link instead.Robert Pelloni (talk) 19:54, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've unblocked you so that you may request a change in username. Please do not edit any articles until this has been done and your rename completed - once renamed, please also remember to abide by the conflict of interest guidelines at all times -- Samtar talk · contribs 13:41, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your username

[edit]

Hi RobertPelloni. I see that you've just had your username changed to RobertPelloni from something else. Although you have identified yourself as the same "Robert Pelloni" who designed the game Bob's Game on your user page, an account can be created by anyone using pretty much any username they want. That is why, I think it would be best for you to send in an email to info-en@wikimedia.org so that your identity can be verified by Wikipedia OTRS. As explained in WP:REALNAME, there's nothing wrong an editor using their real name as their account name, and many editors do just that. However, when the name is the same as that of a specific identifiable person, especially one who is mentioned in a Wikipedia article or two, verification of identity is often requested to avoid any chance of damaging impersonation. You should be aware that in some cases, an account may be even be blocked from editing as a precaution, so verifying your identity will prevent this from happening. FWIW, I am not saying you are not Robert Pelloni, only suggesting a course of action which might help you avoid a further problems with your username.-- Marchjuly (talk) 00:14, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
