September 2013

[edit]

Hello, I'm DVdm. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the pages Metrology, Kilogram, Mole (unit), Proposed redefinition of SI base units because it seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thanks. Ted Hill (mathematician)

[edit]

I was about to revert your edit at Ted Hill (mathematician) but User:Black Kite beat me to it. The edit introduced your own opinion or commentary into the article with statements like "rescinded after fear of a political backlash" and "[s]ome controversy arose over whether these censorships were also due to the mathematical content in addition to ideological differences". These claims are not supported by the current sources or the Neue Zürcher Zeitung source that you added. Our policies do not allow original research in articles, especially for claims about living persons. The NZZ source also appears to be an opinion piece, which we cannot use to support claims about living persons. The current wording and source are the result of discussions on the Talk pages of four different articles and two discussions at our noticeboard for articles about living persons. If you feel that the article should be changed, start a new discussion at Talk:Ted Hill (mathematician). Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks and Cheers!
