Removal of sources

I want to thank you for the updates to so many school district articles, but why make this edit, removing sources about the schools in the district and enrollment? Alansohn (talk) 15:46, 26 July 2019 (UTC)

Notables need articles *AND* sources

You've made a number of edits like this one in which individuals are listed as notables. These entries need to have their own Wikipedia articles, along with reliable and verifiable sources establishing the individual's connection to the place. Please accept my appreciation for your edits and my offer of help to better understand policies and procedures at Wikipedia. Alansohn (talk) 17:09, 29 July 2019 (UTC)

  • In this edit (and a corresponding one at North Brunswick Township High School), you added Talysa Jimenez as a notable. She has no Wikipedia article and the claim of notability as a U-19 lacrosse player is a rather weak one. In general, individuals should have both a Wikipedia article and sources connecting the person to the article. While there are some exceptions for people who have strong claims of notability but no article, this isn't the case here, nor is it with low-level race car drivers. Alansohn (talk) 19:24, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

2007 Cup Series

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Mayhew (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Unsourced notable

This edit added Trent Hindman as a notable in Neptune Township, New Jersey, but there's no source here to connect him to Neptune Township and no mention of Neptune Township in his article. In this case, Hindman is notable, but why add him if you can't provide a source to support the claim? In other edits, why are you adding individuals without Wikipedia articles who have rather weak claims of notability? Alansohn (talk) 17:43, 13 August 2019 (UTC)

Wth on results tables

We at Wikipedia have policies for what defines a “Wth” in points tables. They should only go on if a driver participated in practice activities and then withdrew, not if they withdrew before the race weekend. Users have spent a lot of time reverting your changes and have explained the above reasoning in edit summaries, which are helpful to read. Please refrain from going back and re-adding all of them. An article you recently created, 2020 ARCA Menards Series, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It is based mostly on rumors, and has little cited information. Tom Hessert moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Tom Hessert, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). All Wikipedia articles should be cited by multiple reliable sources. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 17:36, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

New pages

I appreciate your contributions in the form of new pages, but a lot of those pages have vast swaths of material that have no inline citations to support them. While the information is most likely true, it needs inline citations to protect it from removal. If you could add more sources, even if they are reused sources, on pages like Travis Braden and Empire Racing, that would be great, and also please keep this in mind as you further contribute. Regards, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 13:33, 21 December 2019 (UTC)

Images

While it is helpful to include images on pages, we typically only include images of cars that the subject of the article drove. Otherwise, it gets very confusing! Just a heads-up for future use. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 14:34, 6 January 2020 (UTC)

Results table

I appreciate your work in creating new NASCAR-related pages and also adding result tables that aren't so easy to edit. But I give you some suggestions that someone also gave me when I was starting: on NASCAR Wikiproject we agreed that: the correct name of the series that should appear in the results table is the last name the driver raced, for example as you can see in the Dale Earnhardt's page... Winston Cup Series is appearing because the last time he ran in the series was under this name, even though it is currently another name. This helps people understand what year that driver raced in that series, for example in Sarah Cornett-Ching's page I understand that the current series name is ARCA Menards East but when she last ran it was called K&N Pro Series East so it should appear K&N Pro Series East instead of ARCA Menards East. And I also suggest you to add (or not remove) the: key in the results table because it also helps people who not follow NASCAR to understand what bold or italic and each color means in the result in the results table. Aside from the fact that several drivers competed in other series like IRL/Indycar and they template are different, so the colors and other informations have different meanings of the NASCAR/ARCA's template so adding the template is extremely important. Thanks Luks25 (talk) 19:25, 8 January 2020 (UTC)

Could we be Wikipedia friends?

I helped you submit Tom Hessert to mainspace and I am also a NASCAR fan. I am also a roadfan, so that means I edit articles on U.S. and Canada roads. NASCARfan0548  01:05, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

ARCA driver articles

Just a couple notes on the recent articles I have seen you create:

- WP:NMOTORSPORT only covers the top three NASCAR series. This means that any ARCA articles you create will have to pass the general notability guideline, which includes coverage in multiple sites, not just ARCA's site, or they could be deleted.

- I would highly reccomend you completely finish pages before saving them, instead of having half-done pages that look unprofessional. If time constraints are an issue, save it in userspace or draftspace first.

Taking these tips will help your pages survive in the mainspace longer. I hope you heed my advice for a more successful journey editing. Regards, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 01:25, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

I agree, especially about ARCA driver pages being iffy. It's different if someone made a start in the Trucks or higher. Same comments about notability issues for the East & West drivers. I'm glad to see that you found and are using the images that I have been uploading each year from the Madison ARCA race. I was happy to see the track survive the major schedule changes for this year! Cheers Royalbroil 23:18, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

Could you please add results tables to articles I created?

For example, Terry Jones and Jack Smith and could you also move Draft:Jeff Agnew to mainspace after adding a results table to him? NASCARfan0548  16:14, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

ARCA page notes

In results tables for the season, the reason each race had its own row is because each one is unique. While I understand the "easier on the eye" comment, it may actually be the other way for some people, as it may make streaks more impressive by seeing the same name/team/manufacturer over and over again. Also, we only add images if there is one available, the "no photo available" looks like we're just trying to be a public relations service. Thanks in advance, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 17:02, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

I have some recommendations

Could you please create the following articles: Wes Burton, Jeff Agnew, and Brad Queen, and could you please expand some of my article creations, like Bradley Riethmeyer, Jack Smith, and Dusty Davis? NASCARfan0548  01:56, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

I see you expanded Bradley Riethmeyer. I just want to let you know he has 2 2013 entries: one at Martinsville, where he finished 34th in the 84 car and a DNQ at Homestead in the 50 car, both for MAKE Motorsports. NASCARfan0548  18:38, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

Reason why few drivers have 0 points before 2011

Hi, I saw you asked in Dominick Casola's page why he scored 0 points in 2010 since it was before compete for points in one series. The reason it's why it was a late entry. For example when there is less cars/trucks than the field allow and the teams decide to field another truck/car as field-filler (usually S&P) so that teams didn't receive any driver and owners points, only the money. I think it was like that until 2015-2016, nowadays late entries usually receive points. Luks25 (talk) 04:01, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

Connor Hall (racing driver) moved to draftspace

As it stands this fully fails WP:NMOTORSPORT and also seems to fail suggested guidelines set out by NASCAR and motorsport projects. If you believe this person does pass the WP:NMOTORSPORT or WP:GNG, then this needs to be clearly demonstrated. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Sulfurboy (talk) 05:01, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

To second Sulfurboy, articles for drivers who haven't hit the top three NASCAR series need to hit WP:GNG. Also, the point of draftspace is to have the draft reviewed by an Articles for Creation reviewer to give another opinion on whether it is ready for article space. Please do not try and circumvent the process again and next time, please submit it for review. Thanks, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 13:45, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi, when a driver is listed as DNS, QL or Relieved for other driver in the results table (specially in NASCAR/ARCA ones), that result specifically should be colored white (code: #FFFFFF) and not leave like others races that he/she didn't attempt. You can see it in Bubba Pollard's page, I just did it. Thanks Luks25 (talk) 07:37, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

Drafting pages

Please leave the process of draftifying pages to New Page Reviewers and members of the New Pages Patrol, or, in rare instances, admins closing an AfD debate. Bruce Bechtel easily passes WP:NMOTORSPORT, and while the page is a little skimpy, it should not be moved to draftspace just because. Again, please refrain from disruptively moving pages to drafts, as you are not a New Page Patroller. Those decisions should be made by editors who have applied and been accepted to the Patrol based on their high-level knowledge of notability guidelines. Marriages

If you’re going to delve deep into the lives of borderline-notable figures, you have to reliably source it. I’ve removed it for now pending sourcing. Goodness knows the Twitter mob is going to get their hands on this soon. Also, I’d encourage you to do a little more prep work in some areas - in regards to the Zane Smith move, it was obvious by a mere glance at the page that baseball Smith had a much longer tenure in the public eye. For Pockrass’ Twitter duties, he spent a long time at ESPN and turned out a number of very high-quality pieces, which is why I removed that sentence from the page as well. His duties expand far beyond Twitter, as far as I know he’s the only one that goes to the Charlotte-area courts to check on things, so I’d hesitate to make a blanket statement like that. Do you want to do his Nationwide tables now? It has been four days since you said you would do his tables. NASCARfan0548  17:24, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Clarify

Thanks for finding pages that needs results table and added to the list! I said that 'Reeves was competing in a combination race between Busch Series and Busch North...he was a full-time Busch Series driver, so the DNQ in the Busch North is worthless since it is already counted in Busch Series...it only be necessary if it was a exclusive Busch North race' But I forgot a information, if he was competing in both championships, like several drivers did that days, like Ricky Craven for example, the result should also added and the table would be needed. But in Reeves specifically case he was a Busch Series full-time driver and never attempted to race in Busch North, so in that case (in my opinion) is worhtless to add Busch North (K&N East) results.

Keep doing the good work!! Luks25 (talk) 01:10, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Request on the Fourth of July

Could you please create Jeff Jefferson's page? I'm requesting that because the last name is one of our country's founders. NASCARfan0548  23:59, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

Can I also make a request? If you do decide to make the page (or any other pages in the future), can you please try to include 5+ non-Racing-Reference citations? Just because the driver has one start in a NASCAR series doesn't mean that the page has to be small. ZappaOMatic did a wonderful, wonderful job of creating Jade Buford before he had a NASCAR start. Notice

The article Long Motorsports has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG. All sources cited are press releases. Also fails team standards at Wikipedia:WikiProject NASCAR/Standards#Teams. Case of WP:TOOSOON.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Notes

Per WP:UGC, forum-board content like Racing-Reference comments aren't considered reliable sources. I would also warn you against using collective pronouns in your edit summaries to describe groups of editors. In this diff, you call a previous IP edit "[something] we all thought was vandalous". There are a couple issues here: first off, you speak for "we all". I don't know how you define "we all", but putting words in other people's mouths without communicating with them first on the matter has very real consequences in some scenarios. Secondly, you show a lack of good faith that even borders on bad faith. I know that at times it is hard to believe in IP edits being constructive, but try to think of it in a more positive light or just don't tell the world through edit summaries that you're assuming bad faith. Any questions, please let me know. Stay safe, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 01:25, 10 August 2020 (UTC)

Hocevar

There is not a specific tweet saying that Hocevar will be in the 45, I just saw that his twitter bio said Driver of the No. 45 Chevy Silverado for @NieceMotorsport in the NASCAR Truck Series. The reason that I have come to the conclusion that he meant next year, is that he has never driven that number. He has since changed his bio to Driver of the No. 42 Chevy Silverado for @NieceMotorsport in the NASCAR Truck Series, as that is the number that he will run at Martinsville NASCAR Enthusiastnyoom 04:56, 25 October 2020 (UTC)

Your recent edits to 2021 ARCA Menards Series

We don't copy and paste drafts to articles with different titles, etc. That is why there is a requested moves page. Friendly reminder. NASCARfan0548  21:38, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Oh, thanks. Let's do it that way then. That'll be even better if it will automatically delete the draft in the process, which makes sense why we don't copy and paste.

It has been a while since I've talk page messaged you and vice versa, so it's nice to see you again and I hope you're doing well!

2021 ARCA Menards Series

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:2021 ARCA Menards Series a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into 2021 ARCA Menards Series. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. John B123 (talk) 22:15, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Sioux Chief Showdown

Hello, Cavanaughs. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Sioux Chief Showdown".

Article requests

Could you please help me create articles from my to do list if you can find the sources? NASCARfan0548  00:49, 10 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi Max,
Yes, I can help! It's been a while since I've been to that list. There's a bunch of drivers on there that don't yet have articles (and once all of those are done, maybe we can then take a look at top three series drivers without articles before 2010). I know I created a few that were on the list back in the spring once COVID hit and I had more time on my hands. In the three weeks left of this month when I have more time to edit, I'll make sure to google some of these drivers that are still on there and create articles for any of them where there's info which will make the research easier.

Cavanaughs (talk) 05:59, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Douglas County Speedway requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Douglas County Speedway. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Douglas County Speedway moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Douglas County Speedway, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Concern regarding Draft:Chuck Buchanan Jr.

Information icon Hello, Cavanaughs. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Chuck Buchanan Jr., a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Draft space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for article space.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion under CSD G13. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it. You may request userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available here.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. Bot0612 (talk) 00:11, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

Could you please create an article on him? After I found a source saying he is going to run the full 2021 ARCA Menards Series West season, I figured you could create this article like what you did to Bobby Hillis Jr. last year. NASCARfan0548  04:56, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

Yes, I can, but I would not have done it for that exact reason (being a full-time driver this year in the West Series). Here's the thing- drivers are eligible to get an article if they've competed in a Cup, Xfinity or Truck race (or be a notable full-time driver in ARCA or a race winner in that series, I think). Hillis Jr. competed in the Truck Series in 2000 and 2002, so that's why I created his article last summer despite there barely being any info on him online. Toste has apparently run two Truck races in the past (both in 1997), so he can get an article based on that established criteria. Cavanaughs (talk) 10:46, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
