When ethnic tensions in the nation during the constitution-making process in Nepal, the song "Nepali Nepali Hami Nepali," composed by Nawa Raj Subba, became well-known in various media and programs. In his book Cultural Workers of Social Change 'Samaj Parivartanka Sancharkarmi', published by Nepal Academy, Dr Bijaya Subba has included Nawa Raj Subba's song in the wave of songs promoting inclusive democracy and ethnic harmony.
