About Me

[edit]

I edited at least 850 articles thru my different IP addreses thru the years when Wikipedia was beginning, and before I registered. After I registered, I have about 55 now when writing this, so I am eligible for the Novice status. Please do feel free to contact me if you have any questions, and do feel free to post on my Talk page.

Crown Victoria

[edit]

First of all, I like that you wrote on my talk page instead of editing the article again. Second, its nice to see that someone enjoys Crown Victorias, I have a 99.

So, getting down to business. The "Civilian version" as you called it is still available, through the fleet department, yet what you stated was true about the qualifications to buy through ford fleet. By changing the dates in the infobox your saying that the "civilian version" is no longer available, which it is; they sell all versions of the crown vics, though they did cut down on features this year. Basically, the infobox is for the years of production, who they sell to is not relevant and should be added in the article body where appropriate. Grk1011 (talk) 02:17, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I'm Raymie, and I specialize in articles on Arizona's high schools.

While I appreciate your interest in Cactus High School, I have something to break to you: your logo addition will most likely be deleted.

Before I explain, it's none of your fault. It's actually related to copyright concerns you might not know of.

We can't take copyrighted logos on Wikipedia, as I am sure you know, unless fair use is applied. But you might not know that Cactus is recycling an old logo — from an old arena football team, the Carolina Cobras. While the team died in 2004, the AFL owns the rights to the brands of almost all its defunct franchises, including Carolina. It's still copyrighted, and as a derivative work, we can't take it. (This is the second time I've had to explain this.)

If Cactus weren't using a copyrighted logo, or if the Arena Football League ever released the logo from its copyright, this wouldn't be a problem. But it is. Raymie (tc) 04:34, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Issue resolved

[edit]

On July 12th, 2013 I received a signed letter from the Arena Football League granting license to this logo. Documentation is available via email upon request.
