Orphaned non-free media (Image:NYS Thruway Sign.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:NYS Thruway Sign.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:50, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Just so this is clear to anyone else, I didn't flub on the fair use reasoning. The image was re-uploaded with a different file format, not "a replacement creation" as I see it. →ClarkCTTalk @ 01:42, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Per your DRV request, this has been userfied here. The GFDL history has not been restored, I, or any other admin, can (and must) restore it if you edit this into the text of the new article. If you just write a new article (which I suggest might be better), the history isn't needed. GRBerry 20:10, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

NYSR participants list
[edit]As discussed at WT:USRD, the participants list at WP:USRD is being split by state. Since your name has only "NY" next to it, your name has been removed from the large USRD-wide table, and your name has been added to the NY-specific table. This is part of the lengthy process. If this is in error, please let me know immediately. Regards, Rschen7754 (T C) 04:56, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Re: I Take Thee Quagmire edits
[edit]I'm not the only one that reverts bulleted lists. Qst does it also, and also keep in mind I don't make the rules around here or control how things work around here, all I do is revert it to the way it works around here. And no, I'm not complaining. Bulleted lists aren't encyclopedic because you have to scroll down to see the lists. They might be unrelated, but they fit better as a paragraph, I know it can be hard to understand, but if you want the section fixed, then fix it. I know it can sound confusing that paragraphs is the right way and lists are not, but bulletins just don't fit here. I know it can be hard to understand, but this is the way it works around here. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 10:32, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- You have a point there, I will be more careful in my next edit summaries. You're right I did have the edit summary sound annoyed, I shouldn't have. I am very sorry about that, I will be more careful. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 17:45, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:DarienLakeFunCountry.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:DarienLakeFunCountry.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mister Senseless™ (Speak - Contributions) 05:26, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
The NY minor list
[edit]Slowly we are merging roads out of that list. This list was deemed unneeded and should not have anymore additions. Most roads are either gonna get their own article &/or merged into a relevant article. Sorry I had to revert you.Mitch32(UP) 17:52, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, 362 is minor, but I don't believe its gonna have a merge target. So this may stick with its own article.Mitch32(UP) 18:10, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Bombardier Dash 8
[edit]Clark, I apologize for stomping on your edit to shorten the recent crash entry on the Bombardier Dash 8. It was unavoidable, as ceratin IPs were making so many edits so quickly, I could not reveiw them all. Feel free to tweak what I re-added there. Thanks. - BillCJ (talk) 06:50, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- No prob, we were both trying to accomplish the same thing! I was fighting the IPs too, took me on average three re-submits each time to get my edits in around theirs... Thanks for the permission, though! →ClarkCTTalk @ 06:56, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Hello, ClarkCT. You are receiving this message because you are listed on the participant list of WP:NYSR. I am conducting an inactivity check on behalf of the project to see if the project still has an active editor base. The status column on the participant list will be cleared today, and to remain a listed member of the project, you must update your status on the participant list (preferably using the terms "Active", "Semi-active", or "Inactive") which is located here. Those who do not update their status after one week (by the night of June 25) and those who put inactive as their status will be removed from the list. If you have any questions, please leave a message on my talk page or at the "A smorgasbord of topics" section on WT:NYSR. Thank you for your understanding and your time. – TMF 12:28, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
NY5
[edit]I've begun and been the majority writer on over well over 30 articles of streets and locations through out Albany, New York and its metro area the Capital District, including Streets of Albany, New York and Townsend Park. I hope you understand that I am a bit pissed that someone simply looking at a map seems to think they know more than someone who lived and grew up in Albany and works hard on creating articles for that city. I apologize for any rudeness or "ownership" you may perceive, BUT please understand that the Y intersection is NOT the same intersection as that of Lark Street (US 9W) with Washington Avenue. Downtown Albany at its largest definition does not include Townsend Park or Central Avenue. No part of Central Avenue is part of the Downtown Albany BID nor is part of the Downtown Albany Historic District. For the general public Downtown Albany is the part of Albany within the old 1750-60s stockade (generally anything south of Columbia Street and east of Eagle Street and north of Madison Avenue). Please accept knowledge from Wikipedians who generalize on specific geographical areas as experts.Camelbinky (talk) 19:44, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
