[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Harrison Fisher has been reverted.
Your edit here to Harrison Fisher was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://anniversarycardthewaltz.blogspot.com/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 19:28, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
- Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Harrison Fisher. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 03:11, 6 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hi and thanks for your message on my talk page. Thanks for pointing out that link, you are correct it has nothing to do with Harrison Fisher other than the fact that it is a redirect from harrisonfisher.com. I have deleted the link. Wikipedia's policy on external links can be found here, but generally speaking should not include links to commercial or promotional sites. If you believe your site meets the criteria to be included, what you should do is go to the article's talk page and suggest it there, as you have a conflict of interest, and then other editors can decide if they agree that it is a useful link. - Yes, I saw the link to Fashion Model Directory, however it does link to a page on which there is a (brief) biography of Fisher rather than a promotional page so I left it there. Again, if you feel it is inappropriate, feel free to suggest it be removed on the article's talk page. Because wikipedia is the work of volunteers, it is true that sometimes promotional and conflict of interest links get noticed quickly and other times they can be there for a long time without anyone noticing - that's just the way it is unfortunately. Also, when you leave a message on a talk page like you did on mine, please "sign" it by including four tildes (this symbol~) at the end, thanks. Melcous (talk) 05:48, 6 August 2016 (UTC)
