The article Anthony Varallo has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no reliable references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. Speedy deletion nomination of Anthony Varallo

[edit]

Hello CofCMFA,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Anthony Varallo for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Trivialist (talk) 01:29, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia editor Teblick just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Lindsey Drager seems to be notable and worthy of an article in Wikipedia. However, you need to document the information in this article with more references. A subject's own work is not acceptable for references. References on Wikipedia should be from independent, reliable sources.

Hello,

This version shows the addition of content that appears to have been copied from this site or elsewhere online. Copying text directly from a source is a copyright violation. All content you add to Wikipedia must be written in your own words. See WP:Copyright and close paraphrasing, regarding paraphrasing of content. I have paraphrased the content and submitted a request to hide the previous versions. Please leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions.–CaroleHenson (talk) 16:15, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article that you created also had copyrighted content that appears to have come from this source. It was a substantial block so I removed the block of text, which can be paraphrased and added back to the article. It would be better, though, to get secondary sources.

See Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL - news, newspaper, google scholar, NYT, and WP reference are good places to start for reliable, secondary and independent sources.

Again, if you have any questions, please let me know.–CaroleHenson (talk) 16:28, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The same is true for the Anthony Varallo article.

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, CofCMFA. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in articles about faculty from College of Charleston, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. –CaroleHenson (talk) 18:56, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
