User talk:Corsulian
Hello. I was wondering if we could talk a minute about your List of Fraternities and Sororities at George Mason University page. You have done a great with the page over time. I feel have some good information to add, but I would like to discuss it with you off line first. It pertains to Sigma Chi - Iota Xi Chapter. I am authoritative on this chapter from inception in 1985 (colony) through current. Please contact me at liamknuj4321@hotmail.com. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.17.105.174 (talk) 14:03, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Hello. I've noticed you have created an article List of Notable Phi Sigma Kappa Brothers This appears to be a duplicate of the list at Phi Sigma Kappa. Is it your intention that the new article should replace the list on the main article or stand alongside it?B1atv 17:20, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- You're fast. I created List of Notable Phi Sigma Kappa Brothers before deleting the list from the Phi Sigma Kappa page. Corsulian
- Thanks for your response and I'm sorry if I offended you. I'm on "vandal patrol" tonight (it's fun!) - and if you don't move fast the new articles move down the page and are lost. I thought your new article would make sense as you have done it but not as I feared it may have been. Hope you don't mind me asking you. B1atv 17:28, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:PSKCrest gif75.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:PSKCrest gif75.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
Sources for List of Phi Sigma Kappa brothers?
[edit]Hey Corsulian, I noticed you started this page (which was recently renamed to take "notable" out of its title, per the notability guideline), and have been a major editor to the page; thanks for that. My question: do you have a source you are using for the informaiton on the page? If so, could you add a citation for that source to the page? I am concerned that without any sources, the page will raise red flags with respect to Wikipedia's verifiability policy. Thanks. UnitedStatesian (talk) 22:55, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- My main edit to that page was just forming it as its own list page rather than have it as a cluttered extension of the Phi Sigma Kappa page. I will soon scan through it--the majority of those brothers are likely listed in the Phi Sigma Kappa self-published new member manual, "Hills and a Star." Corsulian (talk) 19:25, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- Can you add a source citation, citing the new member manual, to the article page? Otherwise the article does not conform to the verifiability policy and may be subject to deletion (which is not a good outcome given the amount of work you have put into it). UnitedStatesian (talk) 03:50, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- Given there are no sources for the article, I have proposed it for deletion. UnitedStatesian (talk) 13:10, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't see any deletion proposal--but I did add a handful of references. I started adding them for each entry but it looked silly. I'll see about a cleaner way to prove each one. At a cursory glance, I'd say about 95% from from Hills and a Star.Corsulian (talk) 20:33, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit]In case you have yet to notice, I have fixed the problems you have listed. Hope it is satisfactory. Rau's Speak Page 14:44, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Template:Citation Problem on MediaWiki 1.1.12
[edit]I'm having the same problem with the URL being listed in the citation. Did you ever discover a fix to this problem? I'm suspecting that the problem lies in the parser code.

- I never did solve it or figure out exactly is happening--Just one of the many "hey...this isn't what it looks like on Wikipedia" issues. If I understand correctly, the extension roughly emulates but does not duplicate whatever Wikipedia uses so I'm not sure it'll ever perform exactly as expected. Corsulian (talk) 15:29, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- I've still been pursuing this on Mediawiki.org but no solid leads yet. I thought maybe the info was stored in the CSS but messing around with that hasn't helped. I did manage to get the entries in small text and add PDF icons - but those URLs are really bugging me. Corsulian (talk) 19:11, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
My basis
[edit]My basis is that I lived there, saw the composites and chapter history. If you don't believe me, feel free to submit to your compulsion to change it back.--kubfann (talk) 00:36, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Phi Sigma Epsilon
[edit]I just saw the article Phi Sigma Epsilon to which you have substantially contributed. In it you used a reference which is broken, <ref name="ATPS" />. Could you give the details of the reference, please, so I could fix it? Debresser (talk) 20:09, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed - Thanks. Corsulian (talk) 20:34, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

The article Association of Fraternity Advisors has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- highly promotional article, no third party sources
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DGG ( talk ) 17:02, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 03:58, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Lots 'o updates
[edit]Hello, Corsulian - At your leisure, please check the various PSK, PSE, Chapters and Brothers lists. I've been able to complete some extensive updates. These include:
- Expansion of history of PSK
- Expansion of history of PSE
- Reduction of emphasis on PSP
- Removal of Negative Bias relating to civil rights (written by disaffected Phi Tau/Cornell members)
- Improvement of talk page discussion on civil rights and the merger
- Added Kinny Coat of Arms and several other graphics
- Deletion of vanity names, addition of Talk section on Brothers page with criteria for adding someone. This is referenced for new editors throughout main page article
- Addition of colonies section and expansion info on the Chapters page
- Addition of many chapter references, many chapter websites where available
- Addition of notation showing where a campus had both a PSE and PSK chapter
- Much more detail on the merger, with fair-minded treatment of positive results and minor dissent
- Addition of many more Notable Phi Sigs, primarily using Baird's 20th edition and (surprisingly) the NIU chapter website as source
I've a collection of photos of chapterhouses that I'm about to upload and line. Still working on the frame for this, may leave as thumbnails to the right. I also need to complete referencing the list of Brothers. I still plan to review the entire PSK site for WP:Weight once I get the photos done, but in all, I'm pretty happy with it.
