Welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for your contributions. I note that you have uploaded some copyrighted images that you have given permission to use but not to alter. According to Wikipedia image copyright tagging that would qualify for the "Cc-nd" license found here, [1], or a similar license. However images with restrictions like that are not permitted and will be deleted. Only images which have been released under more permissive licenses are allowed. See Wikipedia: image copyright tags for more information. Cheers, -Willmcw 23:08, July 9, 2005 (UTC)
- We had an edit conflict on the Forsyth County case article. I had put a bunch of wortk in to cleaning up the article. I'll try to get your additions put back it in too. Please read the help pages and learnthe right way to format the page, and other Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Especually the Wikipedia:five pillars. Thanks, -Willmcw 22:36, July 10, 2005 (UTC)
- The last edit you made to the article Forsyth County, Georgia v. The Nationalist Movement seems to have been lost, can you add it again? Apologies for the mishap. Cheers, -Willmcw 22:39, July 10, 2005 (UTC)
- The infoboxes/templates composed of links to "nationalist.org" are not appropriate. Wikipedia articles are not here to provide "site maps" to the resources on other websites. Generally, we try to keep to a minimum the number of external links in any article. See Wikipedia:external links. Thanks, -Willmcw 20:43, July 11, 2005 (UTC)
Hello there Crosstar, thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. I am sorry, but I had to revert an edit that you made to Skinheadz. Please, can I ask you not to blank pages on Wikipedia? If there is something on the page that you disagree with, please discuss it on the Talk page of the article or edit, but not blank, the page. Once again, thank you for becoming a contributor; if you have any questions or would simply like to talk to someone about editing, please feel free to leave a message for me on my user talk page. --NicholasTurnbull 20:20, 16 July 2005 (UTC)
Hello again Crosstar. Please stop removing content from Wikipedia; it is considered vandalism. If you want to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. . --NicholasTurnbull 20:27, 16 July 2005 (UTC)
- Constant reverting is also aginst our policies. See WP:3RR. If you continue to do so your editing privileges may be suspended temporarily. Regarding the pages that you created, Wikipedia has a special procedure for removing pages, Wikipedia:votes for deletion. -Willmcw 20:36, July 16, 2005 (UTC)
Crosstar, blanking pages is against Wikipedia policy. Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --NicholasTurnbull 20:42, 16 July 2005 (UTC)
- Due to repeated reverts you have been temporarily blocked from editing (though you may still place remarks on this page). Please read our key policies, at Wikipedia:five pillars. Also please do not make legal threats, as they are cause for a permanent ban. (Wikipedia:No legal threats) FYI, all the material that you added was added under the GFDL license. If there is a copyright violation then please specify what material is copyrighted. Thanks, -Willmcw 21:05, July 16, 2005 (UTC)
Why do you persist in replacing Crosstar.jpeg, which you uploaded, with slate gray? If there's a genuine issue (though I doubt it), put it on the talk page of the Image or the article Crosstar. Thanks. -Schrei 21:26, 21 July 2005 (UTC)
- In case user:Crosstar doesn't reply promptly I can fill you in a bit. After creating a number of articles that user decided that he did not like Wikipedia and tried to blank all of his contributions. The articles were reverted, but the images that he uploaed are another matter. You've seen the notice that he has added when he uploaded -"Permission is granted to copy and distribute verbatim copies of this licensed image, but changing it is not allowed." In some cases he also explicitly added the "C.C. ND 1.0" license. [2] That license and his notices are not acceptable for Wikipedia images. All images marked with that license will be deleted sooner or later. (You'll have to check with others about the schedule and procedure). That's some background, I don't know if it helps. Use of Crosstar image
[edit]Hi Crosstar, I uploaded a copy of the crosstar image and added it to the Nationalist Movement article. Because this image is a logo and is being used purely for informational purposes, I have a right to use this image (without permission) under U.S. copyright law, specifically the fair use doctrine. Is there a specific reason you are trying to remove this image? Kaldari 00:55, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
- Hi Crosstar. May I point you firstly to Wikipedia:Fair use and secondly to Wikipedia:Logos. All the Crosstar images (Image:Crosstar.jpeg and Image:Crosstar3.gif) are legitimately used under fair use statutes, with or without the permission of the uploader. Please cease reverting and blanking the images. Cheers, [[smoddy]] 13:19, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
Please be aware that legal threats are not allowed on Wikipedia, per official policy. If you continue to make legal threats, you may be banned from Wikipedia. The images in question have been removed from the appropriate articles pending resolution of copyright status by Wikipedia adminstrators. There is no need to make threats or try to intimidate people. I think you may find it more constructive to engage in civil dialog with other editors through the discussion pages. We are all aware of your copyright claim. I have personally never disputed such a claim. I have claimed in return, however, that the use of these images is nevertheless appropiate and legal under fair use guidelines. The jurisprudence for using trademarked logos and similar images in journalistic or academic commentary is well established. According to current jurisprudence, trademarks may be used without permission by a nonowner nominatively to refer to an actual trademarked product, organization, or corporation for commentary or criticism. No one here is trying to make money off of your logo or trying to confuse the public as to what it is associated with. Is there a reason that you believe that the Crosstar's use here does not meet the criteria for fair use? Endlessly repeating your copyright claims will not win you any allies. You may be more cogent, however, if you can articulate why you believe the use of the image does not meet fair use criteria. Kaldari 04:06, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
Semi-automated template substitution

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Crosstar, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.
