[edit]Hi, and welcome. Anyone can edit any article, but you should read the links above, particularly the first two, before you start Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:49, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
- JimfbleakI am looking to basically do something on the curation side of things, like housekeeping etc. Thanks for the quick reply. Just one more question, if you have time. I see that many users have uploaded their credentials which are then displayed on their main user pages. Can you guide me as to how that is done? I mean if I want a banner saying that I am from a country what documents will be required? And same with other information. CuratorGuy (talk) 06:54, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
- Fine, that's great. You can edit whatever you want, but if you add or change factual content, you will need to add references as described above. You can put what you want on your user page as long as it doesn't promote you or your work. You don't need to document any facts you claim in regards of nationality, languages or anything, it will be taken on trust. Despite what I claim, I could be a French woman instead of a British man! If you need help with anything specific, I'll assist if I can. Note that there are editing tools in your preferences tab if you haven't already found them Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:12, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
- Jimfbleak thank you very much. Users at the teahouse forum have guided me to a page detailing all the particulars. I will start editing in a bit. I hope you will not mind if I post any requests for help on your User Talk CuratorGuy (talk) 07:15, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

Userboxes
[edit]Hi CuratorGuy, in your first reply above to Jimfbleak you asked about “a banner saying that I am from a country.” I think you are asking about “userboxes.” For example, I wanted to share (among other things) that I live in California; so I put {{User California|live}} on my userpage. See Wikipedia:Userbox for information about userboxes. —teb728 t c 08:23, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
