Pro Wrestling WikiProject

[edit]

Hello DarkFireTaker, would you like to join the Pro Wrestling WikiProject?

Moe ε 22:40, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have received your message regarding the articles in question. The reason I tag {{unreferenced}} is NOT that I doubt whether you are honest. I believe when you write the article, you do it with good faith and to the best of your ability. However, Wikipedia has a policy on Wikipedia:Citing sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability. Thus, it would be best if you can cite where the information on the article comes from.

Thank you for your contribution! Best Wishes! --Hurricane111 20:13, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The image of Julian McMahon you uploaded lacks licence and I put an appropriate template there. Could you please provide a suitable template or if it's a copyvio, just speedy it. Thanks. --Filip (talk) 15:47, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

-Yeah, but, I`m all confused with the licenses & which one is for what, and all of that. That`s why. DarkFire Taker

It seems to me that this is a pic that has copyright on it. I just have a feeling that this image is protected. Maybe you should ask around on the Yahoo (around the place you downloaded it or something...). --Filip (talk) 11:29, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Canada

[edit]

Hi there! I'd like to invite you to explore Wikimedia Canada, and create a list of people interested in forming a local chapter for our nation. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization, within our great nation. We'd also like to encourage everyone to suggest projects for our national chapter to participate in. Hope to see you there!--DarkEvil 15:25, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Handspring rise (By DarkFire Taker - Mesbah).jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. — Rebelguys2 talk 00:05, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but you need to specify a license. Add {{PD-self}} if you release it into the public domain. Add {{GFDL-self}} if you'd like to release it under the GNU Free Documentation License. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Free licenses for more tags. Place it on the image page, and remove the deletion notice. Thanks! — Rebelguys2 talk 02:25, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Natasha Henstridge.jpg)

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Natasha Henstridge.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Yamla 14:25, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Terra Naomi Side View.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Terra Naomi Side View.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 03:11, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Watermarked images

[edit]

Hi, first let me say thank you for contributing free licensed photographs to Wikipedia, this is greatly needed. Unfortunately I notice all your self-created images (as near as I can tell) have a rater blatant "(c) Messbah / DarkFire Taker Shown in Wikipedia" style watermarking all over, often right across the middle of the image. This is in direct violation of Wikipedia:Image use policy#User-created images wich states that user created images should not have embedded copyright notices or watermarking in them. You are naturaly entiteled to attribution for your photographs (for most free content licenses, GFDL included, attribution is in fact a nessesity for legal re-use of the images), but this belongs on the image description page, not embeded in the images themselves. So please upload new versions of those images without the embeded watermarking as soon as possible. Otherwise they have to be deleted, wich would be a real shame. Thanks. --Sherool (talk) 15:32, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Pcdn 10.jpg. However, Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sherool (talk) 10:12, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

From the Editor

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter! I hope this will be a good source of news to those people interested in what's happening around our pro wrestlimg community. I plan to release it every Sunday.

This newsletter will just be a way to get the community announcements to people who don't have the time to check the mesageboards, as well that to those just curious about the news. The newsleter will consist of a project news section (to do with what's happening on Wikipedia), and a current events section (relating to news in the "real world"). The newslette will also contain the Collaboration of the Week announcement.

That's all. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please post them at this talk page.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:DVD VIDEO-14.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DVD VIDEO-14.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:47, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Tempus (Charmed)

[edit]

I have nominated Tempus (Charmed), an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tempus (Charmed). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Capture8.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Capture8.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DVD VIDEO-52.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --19:03, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I do have many several more pix. Most of them are not hugely different than the one already uploaded, but some do have slightly different angles and zooms, so I could certainly upload a few more if you are interested. I'll do it in the next couple of days when I get a chance. Must have been quite an honour to be included. How did that come about? Peregrine981 (talk) 11:16, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Montreal in films, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ray Stevenson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orphaned non-free media (File:8x20-058-coop.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:8x20-058-coop.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:00, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mountaineering Meetup

[edit]

Hey! I can not remember the user name of the person with a good camera, do you? It was nice meeting you also - we should have another meetup in Cape Town! 75.108.23.59 (talk) 23:19, 23 August 2017 (UTC) Opps- was not logged in... Adorabutton (talk) 23:20, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Adorabutton: Unfortunately, I have no idea I've also tried asking our fellow meet-up attendees, but no luck. Oh well, looks like we'll have to pray to the mountain deities for them DarkFireTaker (talk) 05:03, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Investment

[edit]

I'd like to invite you to join the Investment WikiProject. There are a lot of Investment related articles on Wikipedia that could use a little attention, and I hope this project can help organize an effort to improve them. So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help get this project off the ground and a few Investment pages into the front ranks of Wikipedia articles. Thanks!

Cheers! WikiEditCrunch (talk) 09:18, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Success (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Notice

The file File:Handspring rise (By DarkFire Taker - Mesbah).jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Conflicting license - watermarked as (C), description says "owned by Mesbah," but tagged as free use. Can't assume the owner actually wanted it released as free, given all that.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC(talk) 02:35, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The article Coop (Charmed) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article mostly uses primary and series/comic reviews, a quick Google search doesn't give sources that prove notability to the character.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
