Orphaned non-free media (Image:Wtrf.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Wtrf.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:12, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

September 2011

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Flash mob. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Seems like you've been warned about this before and you really should have read the flash mob article before trying to add these poorly uncited publicity stunts to an encyclopedia. Lots of info on the talk page too. Mkdwtalk 20:38, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use of File:PressPhoto1.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:PressPhoto1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the use of the image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. Details of this problem, and which specific criteria that the image may not meet, can be obtained by going to the image description page. If you feel that this image does meet those criteria, please place a note on the image description or talk page explaining why. Do not remove the {{di-fails NFCC}} tag itself.

An administrator will review this file within a few days, and having considered the opinions placed on the image page, may delete it in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion or remove the tag entirely. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Hi. When you recently edited Holy Touch, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page I Like It (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of Holy Touch

[edit]

The article Holy Touch has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references, no claim of notability, fails WP:NSONG and WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I wanted to thank you for prodding me into improving that page. It's now among the 40+ television station Good Articles! It's a tough market to get sourcing, and I don't think I'll be back, but at the very least it's better than it was. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 18:23, 23 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Admittedly, I live in the area, so I know a good bit about their recent history and changes that they made. Perhaps it's why I was so frustrated at seeing the constant changing things back whenever I tried to add information. It's hard to get any sourced info on the area, but hopefully more history is sourced about the station.
Just the way it was, it sounded like it was written by a disgruntled employee that was mad that they just got fired from the station and held one nasty grudge. That did have to change, and thanks a bunch for trying to get that cleaned up. Darkpower (talk) 07:45, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
