Question

[edit]

Good work on Yunnan-related articles. I have a question: are you a native Chinese reader? I'm trying to figure out a character. Badagnani (talk) 07:28, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, see User_talk:Ran#Need Chinese character help. Badagnani (talk) 07:42, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's an inscription on a 108-year-old Vietnamese đàn tranh. I think the first two characters are a maker's mark (金声 = "golden sound"). The last character seems to mean "articulation" in Chinese music. __ 韻. Badagnani (talk) 07:55, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It may very well be, but the left side looks different and I wasn't sure there was a dot at the top. It's not carefully written and it looks as if the wood is cracked. But I think it's a good guess. Badagnani (talk) 08:00, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! If you don't have a dictionary, you could use http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Index:Chinese_radical . Badagnani (talk) 08:08, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Korean cuisine

[edit]

Hi, I just want to let you know about the contributors to this article. They have a great number of people who have been in conflict over the contents of the article and that it has gotten very contentious in the past. A long list of people have tried to mediate this and have been unsuccessful and have gotten the treatment you received.

Just want to let you know, --- Jeremy (talk) 18:20, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Get out while you still can, they are not going to back down. I have had good working relationship with Badagani, but his passion for this article overwhelms any coherent thought. I actually had to request the article be completly locked down last time to prevent the open editing warfare over this issue. --- Jeremy (talk) 06:46, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CR

[edit]

I understand that you may have thought it an obvious reference, but I, and possibly others, did not. Regardless of obviousness, information still needs to be sourced because people unfamiliar with the topic may not find something as obvious as others who are. Case in point: I find it obvious that David Mitchell stars in the sitcom Peep Show; however it still requires a source, because many non-British people would not know anything about Mitchell or Peep Show. This means that pretty much everything needs to be sourced, particularly something as disputable as a cultural reference. I would like to thank you for complying with this, however I am not comfortable with leaving unsourced information in articles that I have worked extensively on, particularly those which are of featuted status. As is policy, it is best to source things when adding them, so that they won't be reverted. Again, thank you for adding the source. Gran2 10:15, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Emperors Club VIP

[edit]

An editor has nominated Emperors Club VIP, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Emperors Club VIP and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 08:59, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Japanese rice, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Curry rice (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Proposed deletion of APS Netherlands

[edit]

The article APS Netherlands has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable, no verifiable sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 05:32, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
