Username concern
[edit]Hi. A user has expressed concern that your username may be deliberately misleading. The username policy expects that usernames shouldn't seek to impersonate other people, and - on foot of the edits by this account - there is a concern that there may be a policy issue here. In the spirit of our assume good faith guidelines, can you possibly explain the rationale for your username choice? So can determine how to address this issue? - My user name is a joke. I am often forced to log onto the web with an old-style dialup modem, which is tedious. I "dial in" so I chose that name. Diallin (talk) 12:30, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- Honestly that doesn't sound very likely - not least because 99.9% of your edits involve reverting those of an editor with an almost identical username. I had raised a concern with the editor in question that their own pattern of editing had PROMO/SPAM/COI issues. However there are ways of dealing with that - without resorting to edit patterns with questionable impersonation overtones. ("Two wrongs" and all that.) Long story short: The promo issues is already in train within the guidelines. If this account is used for vigilantism outside the guidelines, then I'll need to pursue it. Hello, I notice you are deleting all my posts. I do not have a business and I do not sell or promote any business on my website. What I have is a travel blog. As an amauteur photographer I take my camera with me on all my travels around the country. I see you deleted some of my posts by saying Irish is a foreign language, I will state from now on that a link is in Irish. There is very little text, mainly just Photographs. Hope this clears matters for you, and stops you from deleting my posts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dialinn (talk • contribs) 22:42, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:23, 31 December 2011 (UTC)- For the record, your username is also part of the reason for this block, but your campaign of removing any link to a site in a foreign labnguage is the primary reason. I don't know what made you think this was appropriate, but now I assume it is clear that it was not. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:27, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
