Editor experience invitation

[edit]

Hi DimensionalFusion :) I'm looking for experienced editors to interview here. Feel free to pass if you're not interested. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 12:57, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm an experienced editor?? Wow when did that happen?! DimensionalFusion (she/her) 14:14, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You have 3,000 edits and have created new articles. That's more experienced than 99% of people who create an account (check out the table with statistics at the top of WP:WBE). Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 15:19, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Out of curiosity

[edit]

Hey! I notice that you've forked User:Theleekycauldron/Scripts/PSHAW/main.js into your userspace and changed the tag. No worries at all, that's totally fine, I guess I'm just curious why that'd be? Did you have trouble setting up the original version? Cheers :) theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 22:45, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya, it's mostly personal reasons. Nothing really to do with the setup, I just don't like swearing much so I edited the tag to remove it DimensionalFusion (talk · she/her) 06:12, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ahaha, fair enough! Hope it's useful regardless :) theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 09:12, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Putting on my software engineering hat, I'd really like to see this code reside in a public source code repository (i.e. github, gitlab, etc). Having the source live in wiki pages and get forked by copy-paste is not the way to manage a critical piece of software. RoySmith (talk) 11:22, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
on that namespace proposal: I've always thought it's pretty silly that DYK is structured the way that it is. I wish there was something I or you or someone could do about it, but I think the problem's always been that the maintainers of DYK's scripts and bots are the ones that have to make the necessary changes, and so far it just hasn't happened – or I guess someone could put in a pull request, which no one's showed an appetite for. If I had the energy to do it and was familiar with all of the programming architecture around DYK, I would totally have put my name on the list. anyways, all of this is to say, keep having good ideas :) theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 09:12, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A kitten for you!

[edit]

Thanks for today's Joe Hisaishi DYK, he's my favorite composer :)

DYK for Rail transport in Northamptonshire

[edit]

On 13 October 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Rail transport in Northamptonshire, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Northamptonshire has had ninety-two railway stations, but now has only six? You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Rail transport in Northamptonshire), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed.
