Thanks for the use of my image

Wow, you're the only person who used my image! Thanks! Rory What did I do wrong? 09:26, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Proprietary

Just checking you know what Proprietary software means (see link) - it doesn't always mean 'in house' .. however the engine is unlikely to be open-source - so I won't change what you've put.83.100.130.11 (talk) 23:37, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Pilotwings resort.png

Thanks for uploading File:Pilotwings resort.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:06, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

The color changing of your name. Does it work for anyone other than administrators?

I tried copying the exact code and previewing it on my user page, but that didn't work, nor did changing the name of course. I was wondering if it only works for administrators, or is there something I can change in a setting somewhere. Its pretty cool. Dream Focus 08:20, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Oh, I'm no admin. I think it was just broken code. I had a look at it, and it looks like you had put in two different colour codes for the same thing. I'm pretty sure that's why it wasn't working. --Dorsal Axe 10:24, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! Always good to have more color in my life. Dream Focus 10:54, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Japanese text at Black and White

There was no reason for you to have removed the Japanese text in the first place. There is certainly no rule or guideline anywhere that prohibits the use of Japanese text relevant to the prose of an article, particularly whenit comes to a subject that is Japanese in origin. I have been working diligently on this article so that it provides the most relevant information possible and by removing the original Japanese names is something that only fansites such as Serebii or Bulbapedia do. Wikipedia is not a site that whitewashes the existance of a previous version of something merely because a new version is coming out. This is particularly the fact when only Japanese sources are being used to reference these items.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 08:30, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Including Japanese text is useful to the article. It provides more information about the subject's initial release, even if these items are just gameplay features. Please do not remove this text, again.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 08:43, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

I think you should ask at WT:VG about this, just to get a clear consensus. I sort of get where you are coming from, since the game isn't even out in English yet, but I don't really know of any other articles that do this. Blake (Talk·Edits) 14:43, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

If it's the same name, then the Japanese text does not need to be removed at all. Please stop removing the katakana names for the C-Gear and the Feeling Check.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 19:04, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Ack, you screwed up the formatting when you updated the Battle Subway section. Again, no reason to remove the Japanese text (or original Japanese names), and you mixed up the parameters of the {{nihongo}} template. I've fixed it up, so if the Gym Leader names are revealed, please try to copy the formatting I've put in place.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 19:50, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

FL/mainpage positioning

Example of FL on LHS of mainpage

Hi Dorsal Axe, thanks for your quick comment on our proposal. We did do another mockup, with the list underneath the FA/DYK. The coding should allow this to take place if deemed acceptable to all parties. Cheers, The Rambling Man (talk) 17:22, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Ghetsis and Alder

This name has not been confirmed so I don't know why last week you replaced "Goetis" with "Ghetsis" and "Adeku" with "Alder".—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 23:03, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Hey there Dorsal Axe, thank you for your contributions. I am a bot, alerting you that non-free files are not allowed in user or talk space. I removed some files I found on User:Dorsal Axe/Sandbox. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

Futurama

Why would we list them in broadcast production order? I don't know of any other TV show that does. It makes no sense. CTJF83 14:51, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, but I'm a little confused here. Is this just chatter, or are you raising an issue with that edit? --Dorsal Axe 15:19, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm raising an issue with your revert. CTJF83 15:22, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
Because we list all previous seasons in production order, due to the horribly confusing numbering system(s). We gotta stick with one system or the other, otherwise we end up in a really confusing, inconsistent mess. --Dorsal Axe 15:28, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
Finally!....So, why not switch all to broadcast order? That is easier then production order, and like I (meant) to say I don't know any other tv show that does production order instead of broadcast order. How is numbering confusing? Due to them splitting up seasons with months of gap? CTJF83 16:57, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
Darn downtime! :p
Anyway, the gist is that Futurama simply does not ignore production order outside of production, like other shows. The main problem is that there are more "broadcast seasons" than production seasons. It's been debated on here before, and the verdict is that because the producers are on record as acknowledging production order as the true, intended order of the series, we go with that. That's the order used for home volume releases and syndication in other countries. That's why Futurama gets a free pass in regards to that.
Some of the producers' comments regarding this particular season seem to suggest that the ordering for this season is wholly exclusive to Comedy Central's broadcasting schedule. If the broadcast order is featured on the inevitable home release and in syndication, like with most TV shows, then fair enough, can't argue with that. But for now, we really should be aiming for consistency; that would be to follow production order. --Dorsal Axe 17:48, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
Do you have a few discussions you can link me to? CTJF83 18:03, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
Off the top of my head some discussions are kinda spread on out this page, this page and this page. There were some big discussions, but I can't remember where they were held. I'll try and dig 'em up sometime. --Dorsal Axe 18:26, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Futurama "Reincarnation" image

I've tagged File:FuturamaReincarnation.png as a non-free image missing a source. Its original source was the episode itself, but that's not possible since the episode hasn't aired yet. According to WP:NFC#4, all non-free images must have been published outside of Wikipedia. If the episode hasn't aired yet, that doesn't qualify as having been published. –Dream out loud (talk) 18:43, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

Futurama broadcast order

Hi. When you recently edited Futurama, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Bender and Eric Rogers (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Simpsons guest stars

Hi! Thanks for updating this; I'm very slow (well, until the summer at least) so if you could maybe do this on a regular occasion that would be fantastic. Just remember to source them (this can be very hard but TVGuide is usually pretty good) and don't forget to update the guest star counts at the top. I'll obviously still pitch in when I can. Thanks! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
