1989 World Cup (men's golf) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, 1989 World Cup (men's golf), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 09:41, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 1963 European Amateur Team Championship, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael Burgess. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:09, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:2019 U.S. Women's Open golf tournament logo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 05:37, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A PNG version of the logo was uploaded, File:2023 US Open Logo.png. The PNG image format is preferred over the JPEG format for logos and diagrams like this, because PNG supports full color, lossless compression and transparency, among other features. Hello, EEJB,

Thank you for creating 2023 Eisenhower Trophy.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

The page does not really provide much information on the teams themselves, who was on them, what the scores were, etc. If you could add a prose recap of the event in a paragraph that could be rather helpful. Nice article otherwise though! Thanks for adding it!

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|TartarTorte}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Pronunciation

[edit]

Most readers of the English Wikipedia will read Ludvig's name as "A-Berg" if there's no note. The pronunciation has to be sourced though, personal knowledge is classed as Wikipedia:Original research. So we need a source for this information about the pronunciation NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM (talk) 15:50, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Can't find any source for the Spanish pronunciation of Camilo Villegas. Not easy with sources for this kind of information. Maybe a link to a Swedish television or radio play site? I know Åberg has said that he has given up to learn the Americans to pronounce his name, but it would be nice with correct information, at least not wrong information, in the article. Regards and thanks for being observant ;-) EEJB (talk) 10:31, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
English speaking Swedish Radio:
https://sverigesradio.se/artikel/ludvig-aberg-wins-first-pga-tour-title
Is this enaugh source? Purpose should be showing the Swedish pronunciation, not the usual way Americans say the name, Regards, EEJB (talk) 20:54, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We need more so a written source of the pronunciation, otherwise we are still doing original research to convert the audio to a written representation in the phonetic alphabet. I think Alex Norén has said he pronounces the name a little differently due to being from Stockholm, compared to Ludvig being from Scania. So ideally it would be a written pronunciation guide for someone from Ludvig's region NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM (talk) 14:56, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

David Graham's article

[edit]

Hi EEJB,

I was out of action for much of this spring as my computer was in the shop and missed your original posting about David Graham. However, I recently noticed the post and would like to respond. I am the one who wrote the detailed opening to his Professional Career section. A couple years ago I noticed that Graham's page was severely inadequate and was just trying to get started on improving his page and thought my edits might induce other editors to add stuff. I just wanted to clarify.

In addition, it already looks like it has been resolved, but we had a discussion about Graham's elusive 1977 SA PGA victory four years ago on the talk page.

Sincerely,
