Hi Ed.. be careful of the wiki-nazis. They deleted the AU Lacrosse article as it was not notable enough. I was about to add info on past club members who had competed for Australia and instead found the page targetted by a certain unsavoury individual for deletion. He brought a number of friends along and got the numbers up to have it deleted/merged. Ozdaren 10:11, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HTC

[edit]

Hi, I've deleted the merge from the AUSA article. I'm not sure where to next. The original deletion of the article still stands. What about a general article on the inter college sports committee and add most of the contents to it. Ozdaren 15:03, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HTC is now part of a broader article titled Adelaide University sports. Ozdaren 14:07, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: St Peter's College Rewrite

[edit]

Hi Edwinski. My rewrite of St Peter's was largely performed out of a desire to see a more focused and neutral article. I'd be hesistant to myself claim sound knowledge of the subject, so I invite you to correct any inaccuracies resulting from my changes. I was unaware that I had deleted your additions to history – they were most likely overwritten when I saved (meaning I was editing an outdated revision).

I presume the information to which you refer was in the Extra-curricular activities section? I deleted most of it because I didn't feel it held any particular merit and because it appeared to be mostly advertorial. Moreover, I felt that the Exploration society and Exchange programme subsections were excessive. However, I don't object to the deleted topics being again covered so long as they are succinct and neutral. Thanks, --cj | talk 14:44, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Edwinski, I totally aggree with what you have to say about Benjamin Medez Da Costa. The argument that his funds were "stolen" from the Catholic Church are nothing but myths. Hope to see many more of your discussions on wikipedia. 29/09/2006 Auhc

Non-free use disputed for Image:AUBCLogo.JPG

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:AUBCLogo.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 17:10, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:StM.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:StM.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

AB (food)

[edit]

A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article AB (food), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but yours may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.

Orphaned non-free image (Image:StM.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:StM.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:The Icons.jpg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on The Icons (Australian band), by BrianFG (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because The Icons (Australian band) fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

not notable - having a few songs played on Triple J does not make a band notable

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting The Icons (Australian band), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 17:21, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:AUBCLogo.JPG. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:19, 11 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. [edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AdelaideAlive.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --06:37, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:AdelaideAlive.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AdelaideAlive.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

If it's your original work, why do I feel like i've seen it before? And the fact the image contains no metadata, and your numerous talkpage image copyright violations, doesn't exactly fill me with hope either... neither does this image... Timeshift (talk) 10:24, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Falmouthsunset.jpg

[edit]

File:Falmouthsunset.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Falmouth sunset.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Falmouth sunset.jpg]]. Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:AUBCblade.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
