Hi there!

[edit]

Hey I just noticed you started editing just a few days ago. Welcome aboard, it's always nice to see somebody from Sri Lanka or even somebody interested in Sri Lanka related topics over here. Please consider joining up with Wikiproject Sri Lanka if you haven't done so already (we don't really do much though). Cheers :) Chamal TC 13:07, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey thanks, I'd like help improve the Sri lanka pages. I'm still learning about all the functionality of Wikipedia, if you have any suggestion that could help make better use of my time they are warmly welcome. Eng.Bandara (talk) 22:31, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have been blocked indefinitely, because I have used my IP before I created this account. I reject that the other account is my 'master-sock', and I would like to get this account reinstated. If you go through my contribution, you will see that I have made a very positive and comprehensive contribution to the WP Sri lanka pages

Decline reason:

"I am not a sock" is not the argument to use to get unblocked. You were blocked as a result of a SPI/CU check; you'll need more convincing evidence to be unblocked. Please read WP:GAB before making further unblock requests. The Bushranger One ping only 08:29, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This is a checkuser-issued block; such blocks are generally unappealable. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 06:43, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I would like a second chance, I have demonstrated that I am a positive contribution to Wikipedia throughout a number of articles, this is evident from my contribution. I would hope you could unblock me straight away without the use of the standard offer, as I don't believe the 6 months is necessary in much in my situation. As I have been engaging with WP positively and constructively prior to my SPI. Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Syrian_civil_war

Decline reason:

No - the wait period in WP:OFFER is for a reason: by staying away from Wikipedia for a while, the blockee demonstrates that they can control themselves enough to follow our rules. You can't demonstrate your good faith by creating more socks, ever. Please come back in six months. Max Semenik (talk) 10:46, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Ok I accept that, however is there anyway for me to work out a plan to get this block wiped from my record in the future? In case I decide to apply for SysOps or any other position on wiki later, this will look bad. I was young when I had original socks, I have not committed any breach on this account in terms of editing recently. The distributor108 account had blatant combative attitude, crude language, and severe abuse of other editors, this has largely subdued on this account. I have substantially changed my behavior and attitude and want a clean start.

Decline reason:

Block log entries are not deleted for any reason, and the option to clean start is only available to users in good standing. If you come back in six months without having edited Wikipedia in the meantime, successfully appeal your block, and demonstrate that you are willing to constructively contribute to the project and abide by policies, a clean start could be considered at that time. You stated that blocks logs are never deleted, so when what do you mean by clean start? Will this block effect a future RFA? Eng.Bandara (talk) 00:25, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

At the moment, passing a hypothetical future RfA is the least of your worries. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 07:17, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
