ITAM

[edit]

Hello Esteban:

I think we have different perspectives about this topic and, to avoid controversy, I deleted the sentence referring the "Rankings of Academic Institutions in Economics". But still you reverted this change last night. I'm OK about the need for citations you argue but, on the other hand, I think you are being excessive. I have experience dealing with this article, and I am sure I'm not incurring in any violation of Wikipedia's policiy for verifiability. As you should know, the importance of this university in Mexico has made this article subject of vandalism, and all the evidence you have shown during the past days have increase my suspects about you (I invite you can check all the previous vandalism the article has received, proved by the Wikipedia community, which all started like the attitude you show).

So I propose you this: I will leave your citations requests and instead I will delete the line about the ranking on the first paragraph. If you do not agree, I will continue reverting the changes you make, creating a controversy; and I sure you and me want to avoid this.

I send you my best greetings... Hapmt (talk) 20:27, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Mexican presidents

[edit]

The succession box appears to be pretty standard for politicians. There are succession boxes for all of the American presidents and for the rulers/politicians from most other countries. In fact, there were succession boxes for many Mexican presidents earlier, before I made edits on the entries.

While I agree that the succession box gets complicated in the cases of many 19th century presidents (particularly where the info box and the lists of the heads of state list seem to differ) I generally find the succession box to be a helpful addition to wiki entries for politicians. That is why I added the boxes to most of the Mexican presidents today.

Template:Succession box explains that "the succession box template ought to be used only for the simplest succession lines"). But the succession list of the Mexican presidents actually is reasonably simple and corresponds rather closely to the example used in in the Succession box template explanation, the offices held by Winston Churchill. Your explanation used when you reverted the edits was that the succession box information was already found in the info box. But note that this is true in the entries of many politicians. This is, in fact, true in the Churchill entry as well. There is also duplicate information in the info box and the succession box.

Because there are a lot of different entries involved with this discussion I'm probably not going to go to the articles and change everything back; the potential edit war would be very tiring. I don't really understand the nature of your concern, however.(Flyte35 (talk) 06:22, 24 October 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Mexican President Signatures.

[edit]

How do you know they are not PD in Mexico? Any laws stating that? Connormah (talk) 23:09, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any proof that they are indeed copyrighted, or are we just going of assumption right now? Connormah (talk) 14:46, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Endowment

[edit]

Hi Esteban Zissou. I have contributed to the article National Polytechnic Institute. I have seen that endowment is not right for this institution. I wonder if you could explain me in detail what does endowment means and where I could find it. Thank you very much. --Aaha (talk) 20:38, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Banxico Page

[edit]

Hi Esteban Zissou. I was working on the bad ggogle translation that you had formerly pointed out. I have no idea who did that. Any way, I suggest to do the transalation outside Wikipedia and when I am done with it then I publish it. I would let you know and you send me your commnets on the new english version before undoing it. Is that OK with you? My intention is that the page becomes closer to the Spanish version. Take care, --170.70.19.61 (talk) 20:00, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
